I remember that before the doors opened they were testing out music and stuff and someone took a pic of MVPs video playing and spoiled him being a surprise. I avoid message boards and Reddit like the plague the day before and the day of the rumble.

I knew they’d push HHH in 2016 near the top. That was one of the most obvious “surprises” even Michael Cole’s “OH MY GOD” felt forced.
Edge in 2020 is top 3, no way in hell should it be #12.
Also Michelle McCool?? Really??? Asuka, Chelsea, and Nia Jax were better surprises in that same rumble!

As for surprise entrants for this year, I could see X-Pac or Albert (a random choice, but he is employed by WWE and can still go, have him eliminate one of the street profits or a pretty deadly member for a nostalgia pop).

Wade Barrett making a run in from commentary (or backstage, I guess) would be dope.

I feel like it only truly becomes a WWE best of list when HHH is randomly shoehorned way too high onto it.

I know there was a lot of chatter about AJ Styles signing with WWE at the time. But even then, making his debut in the Rumble instead of doing an NXT run first was a real shock.

I love how the very first entrant on the list is the moment Matt Striker got fired.
"I'm marking out, bro!" and his obsession with clapping all the time, dark times.

I don't think anyone disagrees that they got #1 right. I do but also there was never any way Edge was placing first after going to AEW, so Cena is the best viable one.

The list for those that don't want to watch the video: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}25 - Booker T (2011) 24 - MVP (2020) 23 - Michael Cole (2012) 22 - Bob Backlund (2000) 21 - "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan (2012) 20 - "Rowdy" Roddy Piper (2008) 19 - Kharma (2012) 18 - Rob Van Dam (2009) 17 - Lita (2018) 16 - Bubba Ray Dudley (2015) 15 - Sami Zayn (2016) 14 - Bad Bunny (2022) 13 - Brock Lesnar (2022) 12 - Edge (2020) 11 - Michelle McCool (2023) 10 - Jerry "The King" Lawler (1997) 9 - Nia Jax (2019) 8 - Logan Paul (2023) 7 - Trish Stratus (2018) 6 - Rey Mysterio (2018) 5 - Triple H (2016) 4 - Diesel (2011) 3 - Becky Lynch (2019) 2 - AJ Styles (2016) 1 - John Cena (2008) Hope there are some actual completely out of the blue surprises this year. {Spoiler}They should have taken out Michael Cole and put Road Dogg in that spot. Road Dogg was more of a surprise in the 2012 Rumble since he's been away from WWE for some time. Once they had Lawler and Booker come in as entrants it didn't really make Cole a surprise.

My own personal biggest surprise was Diesel. I legitimately had thought for years that there was no way we'd ever see Diesel again. Kevin Nash? Sure. Red and Black, Black and White? hell yeah. Maybe even a joke with him as Oz for Halloween? Why not. But Diesel? Hell no. I don't think a single person watching the show was seriously like "hell yeah Nash is totally going to come out as Diesel."
Then it happened. And I was happy.

I mean if you're going with X-Pac and Albert can we get Justin Credible as well? Albert and Credible are in the ring by themselves, buzzer goes off and "Yo, you dealing with the x factor.."

Gotta give Uncle Kracker a pay day. It would be better than listening to another Hardy song like last year

Christian is a very noticeable absence, though I guess since that was a Thunderdome one. I'll never forget Sheamus happily beating the shit out of him and screaming "WELCOME BACK CHRISTIAN!" lol
