The Rumble is the main time of year when I kinda wish I was a casual fan or whatever you want to call it.
A lot of these are surprises in kayfabe but if you're part of the IWC you heard all the rumors about Styles coming in in 2016 or Edge returning in 2020. The Nash and Booker ones I loved in 2011 too but again I remember seeing stories that weekend that they were in town for the Rumble and likely appearing.
Cena in 08 is the one genuinely massive shock. People weren't expecting him back in the ring for Mania, much less the Rumble. RVD in 2009 I remember being shocked by too. I don't know if the dirtsheets had that one beforehand but if they did I luckily didn't read about it. Rey in 2018 was a surprise to me too.
