Lets not use the regular season this year as any kind of litmus test, pretty obvious this team was bored, the post season started and the switch flipped. You're citing two games in which the Dolphins fell behind early and had to throw the ball and the Bills mysteriously gave up on running the ball - despite averaging 4.7 yards per carry - over a 17-game regular season in which the Chiefs were ghastly at stopping the run and five of their six losses were attributable to their inability to stop the opposing ground game. The Bills gave up on running the ball because it stopped working. James Cook took 3 first down handoffs in Q4 and lost yards each time. The Chiefs also played them into that strategy, we're gonna make you drive the field each time with 10 plays, no big plays. The Ravens run defense is also pretty bad so should these 2 teams just hand off 40 times?

Baltimore's pass defense was 5th-best in the league in opposing completion percentage, 2nd-best in yards per attempt, allowed the 2nd-fewest passing touchdowns, and tied for 3rd-most interceptions. They also recorded a league-best 60 sacks. If Kansas City wants to rely on dumb pride or whatever to think that their passing game and awful receiving corps is going to have a field day with the Ravens' secondary, then that's a good way to ensure they're sitting at home on Super Bowl Sunday.

The part you're missing with a lot of this is A, the Ravens defense feasted on a lot of bad teams, if you separate their numbers vs opponents that were actually capable their numbers become much more league average. B, The amount of pressure that is on Lamar Jackson in this game is incredible. This man is known as a playoff choker..he's also 1-3 vs Mahomes. There is immense pressure on him to have a great game because he's facing Mahomes, he's facing the team that always does this and...he's suppose to win.

What? No they haven't. The Ravens have played a laundry list of playoff teams and the best quarterbacks in the league and beaten them all - CJ Stroud and the Texans (twice), Joe Burrow and the Bengals (twice), the Lions, Justin Herbert, Matthew Stafford and the Rams, Trevor Lawrence, the 49ers, the Dolphins. And of all the elite quarterbacks they've played, only one - Stafford - even approached 300 yards passing. It's the Conference Championships. Everyone is under pressure. You think the Chiefs aren't facing pressure? They're looking to go to their fourth Super Bowl in five years and win their second in a row, cementing themselves as an actual dynasty, and everyone outside of the Kansas City metropolitan area is actively rooting against them. Is that not pressure?

I picked the Ravensβ¦but wonβt be surprised if there are referee shenanigans to get Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl and all that comes with that.
49ers over the Lions.
Went with Ravens over 49ers in the poolβ¦but will likely be all the way wrong

Is that not pressure? This is what the Chiefs do, they have the experience no one else there does. Also lets take this into account Ravens defense vs Burrow, Watson, Stafford, Tua, Kyler, Herbert and Purdy... 22.8 PPG which would rank 25th vs Texans in Strouds 1st game, Minshew, Tannehill, Dorian Thompson Robinson, Pickett, Goff, Geno Smith, Lawrence and Mason Rudolph 9 PPG As you see these stats are skewed. Also for your other thing about not throwing because their pass D is good.. This Sunday will be the 7th time Patrick Mahomes has faced off against the league's top-scoring defense (through 15 games - attempting to exclude end-of-season start/sit shenanigans) in his career. Here's a thread of how the previous 6 games went: 1) The first game Mahomes played against the league's best scoring defense happened to be week 14 in 2018 at home against the Baltimore Ravens. 442 yards of offense and a brilliant 4th and 9 bomb to Tyreek gave the Chiefs a 27-24 overtime win over Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. 2) The following year, also in week 14, saw Mahomes and the Chiefs travel to Foxboro to play a New England team that had swept them the previous year and was the league-leading defense. The Chiefs had 346 yards of offense and a 23-16 win over Brady and the Pats. 3) The third time Mahomes faced the league's top defense was, again, in week 14 (wtf lol) of the following year. Back in the stadium where they won Super Bowl 54, the Chiefs faced the Miami Dolphins and despite four turnovers, had 448 yards of offense and won 33-27. 4) The fourth and fifth times Mahomes faced the number one scoring defense were the two matchups with the Broncos in 2021. A 22-9 laugher in Arrowhead, and an intense 28-24 win in Mile High when the Chiefs jumped out to a big lead and Denver tried to storm back but fell short. 6) The most recent time was in San Francisco last year, in one of the sharpest offensive performances in the Mahomes era. 529 total yards and a 44-23 demolishing of a fantastic defense on the road. 7) On Sunday, Baltimore will try to do what no top-scoring defense has ever done: Defeat Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

So if the Niners lose on Sun and don't even make the Super Bowl: Do we officially induct Kyle Shanahan into Bitchalla?

The Ravens could win by effectively grounding the Chiefs' porous run defense into a fine powder. Kansas City surrendered nearly 2,000 yards on the ground this season to the tune of a 25th-ranked 4.5 yards per carry. This suits Baltimore's offense, which had a league-best 2,661 rushing yards in 2023 at a clip of just about 5 yards per carry. The Ravens' rushing game could control the game's tempo and clock and wear out Kansas City's defense. The Chiefs, however, could win because the NFL really wants Taylor Swift to be in a luxury suite at Super Bowl LVIII.Refball levels could be through the roof on Sun in order to make sure that happens. Just remember though: according to Chiefs fans, the league hates the Chiefs and Mahomes because a WR lined up offsides and was rightfully called as such.

I don't blame anyone for picking the Chiefs, but the past is kinda irrelevant here. Lamar's a much better QB now, with better receivers and two coordinators who are actually good.

Isn't Taylor going to be in Japan for Super Bowl weekend? I think she's going to be performing at the Tokyo Dome.

I consider myself a pretty big Mahomes fan, but with the whole Tay Tay thing going on Iβm cool with him sitting this one out. I just canβt be comfortable with the slobberfest of KC being in the Super Bowl with that storyline behind it:
Plus Baltimore v San Francisco seems like more fun

Going Ravens over Niners but really, I just do not want Detroit or KC involved.

What result do I want? Either NFC team over either AFC team, but preferably anyone but the Chiefs winning is cool. You know it's gonna happen...it's the Chiefs again. I hope the Chiefs lose via another Kadarius Toney screw up haha

This kind of stuff is exactly why Giants fans hated Toney and were celebrating when the Giants traded him away. What a bust of a draft pick.
