The entire AEW spanish announce team. They're so bad, AEW's TV broadcasting deal with Latin America failed because nobody wanted it.

I'll be honest, I'm at the point where I struggle to tolerate the majority of them now. There's just too much shouting and melodrama and soundbytes, everything just sounds overly sincere and contrived and it annoys me. Modern commentary is often sort of the aural equivalent to a spotfest match, people who've heard stuff on other commentaries and tried to emulate that without understanding how and why it worked, and/or just trying to get their shit in. My favourite short lived commentary team was Chris Brookes and Drew Parker because it was a much more natural friends riffing on wrestling and drinking beer vibe. While still doing their jobs and getting more serious for the title matches. The deathmatch guy thinking joshis are a bit too brutal worked. Veda Scott is good for that kind of tone too, she's good at treating the ridiculous completely seriously. Similarly the aew guys relaxing through picture in picture can be a lot of fun too. More naughty school kids that think the teacher can't hear. Basically that's a long way of saying relaxed vibes are best. It's why I liked Regal in nxt too.

I know he's gotten some retroactive appreciation and people liking his bombastic nature, but I never really dug Vince on commentary. It wasn't even that he didn't really know moves or relied on his verbal ticks so much as it was the likes of Monsoon in the 80s to early 90s and JR after were so much more enjoyable to listen to that Vince's flaws became all the more noticeable when I knew there were better options in the company.
To Jesse Ventura's credit he managed to elevate Vince's work to the point of almost decent when they worked together, but otherwise he just felt like an albatross to the programming much of the time.

Jim Ross for the last…forever People are just kidding themselves. He’s been atrocious far longer than he was great. Yep, but I would argue he never truly was "great", though.

Mauro Ranallo honestly, especially when he would go overboard.
Great analytical mind, especially when working with Bryan in the Cruiserweight Classic, but could get annoying super quick.

Joey Styles. Can’t enjoy ECW because of him. There’s a reason why everyone remembers “Good God Almighty!!!!” and what happened and no one remembers “Ohhhhh myyyy Gaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwd” he screamed 80 times a show.

After you hear Pete Doherty, I guarantee your bar for good commentary will be lowered.

Mark Madden was trying too hard to be Jesse ventura on the mic with no credibility.
Michael Cole during his heel phase had me stop watching wwe until it came to an end.
I also didn't care for Corey Graves. I don't know anything about his wrestling career, but he reminds me of another Jesse ventura wannabe on commentary.
Josh Matthews sounded like a bad parody of Michael Cole.
I don't really have a problem with Matthew Rehwoldt in tna, it's just that his voice kinda sounds like Disco Inferno's.
Gordon solie, Marc lowrance and other late 70's-80's announcers trying to speak with the Howard cosell cadence.

Vince. His calls were bad enough but that phony voice he puts on to do it is probably the least sincere thing I have ever heard

Joey Styles is bad. He worked for the late 90s ECW but it doesn’t hold up at all.

I've never liked jim Ross as a commentator. All the way back to his wcw days when I first saw him. I don't care about anyone's football career

Matt Striker - I can't believe I liked him during his run. Looking back on it, all he did was pander to the deepest corners of the internet wrestling fandom.
Jerry Lawler - This is specifically from maybe 2016 onward, when he wasn't truly a full-time commentator. He'd always trot out these sub-"Blue Collar Comedy Tour" jokes that had nothing to do with the actual wrestlers in the ring, saying totally random nonsense like, "You know, I heard Braun Strowman is so ugly, even his razor is afraid to touch his face!" It was just constant random "Mad Libs" to throw out every few minutes.
JBL - Reading someone's Wikipedia page list of championship and accomplishments, and guffawing and screaming "I LOVE IT!" whenever somebody dives to the outside of the ring does not make a good commentator.

As a Brit I never understood Lord Alfred Hayes and his commentary was just so dull. ---
Judging by this thread the ultimate trio of commentators to call a dream match of Macho King Randy Savage + Samoa Joe vs The Rock + Kenny Omega would be...
Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan and Tazz.

His first stint with Cole was tremendous. I'll die on that hill. He was Heenan in his prime (90-93) in the booth. When he went back to the booth the second time, someone (gee, I wonder who) got in his ear and insisted on him screaming catchphrases and doing a Heenan in WCW impression.

Jerry Lawler has had his moments over the years but for the most part i think he's always been pretty bad; certainly only any good when paired with JR
Matt Striker was extremely annoying
Larry Zbyszko was terrible imo, i always hated when they had him at the WCW desk
Mark Madden, do i need to explain this

As a Brit I never understood Lord Alfred Hayes and his commentary was just so dull. --- I thought Alfred and Sean Mooney were the most boring commentary duo of all time when I was a kid, but when I went back years later I found them to have a rather charming chemistry. Sean was fantastic for a guy who had a very limited background in wrestling, and Alfred managed to transition from the onscreen loveable buffoon to a lowkey heel who could be very eloquent and insightful. They were never going to be the A-team, but when I hear them nowadays, I find them very easy to listen to.

Watch one of WWF's house shows at the Sam Houston Coliseum to experience the unmitigated horrors of Pete Doherty on commentary. Oh LORD, Pete Doherty. It’s literally Jobber Commentary. I didn’t even know that existed. Doherty makes Heel Michael Cole sound like freaking Jack Buck.

Mark Madden is the absolute pits. He adds nothing of value ever. Not in analysis, play-by-play, insight, storytelling, humor, nothing. Yet he had to talk. A lot. At his best he was a 3rd rate heel Attitude Era Jerry Lawler wannabe. At his worst, which was most of the time, he dragged a terrible show to even lower depths.
