He'll have a complicated legacy at best.
Yes, he was extremely dominant in the ring (perhaps too much so) and, with a more appealing personality, absolutely could have been an icon on the level of Hogan, Sammartino, etc. However, he was very inconsistent with his in-ring work and he was not someone who would sell us on the company, even as a babyface (which he never really was.) His foray into MMA made him legitimate for a while, but did nothing for pro wrestling's profile.
And now the controversy here has all but cemented his reputation as a dominant figure who somehow still managed to diminish the craft that made him famous. The stories we've received - about his stunts in OVW that made Jim Cornette threaten to shoot him, his pursuit of Sable, the "locker room leaders" who kissed his ass - are of a man who was never told "no." The business is much healthier without his ilk in it. Let his name be a placeholder in the lineages but don't put any spotlight on him.

depends on where his final match with bigfoot takes place, if it's in the wilderness then as it is, if it's in a wrestling ring then he goes down as the one human to become a cryptid by beating another cryptid. Has Bigfoot even wrestled since his TNA match?

An amazing athlete who couldn't be bothered to reach the heights he was capable of. Especially once he realised he could get away with suplex spam. Looking back the Ambrose and wm20 matches will stand out more than his few highlights.
Personally he'll be a big symptom of why I stopped watching but it's hard to separate his flaws from the booking.

Since he wasn’t charged with anything or in the lawsuit, I can see things blowing over after a few years and he gets a HOF induction But the poor taste and insensitive jokes would continue, and haunt and plague our viewing for years since these stories go like bread and jelly with oil. Heaven up above help us if they make it a gimmick where he is pervy. It would make Russo's writings look tame, and that's not even a good thing. Oh lord, this would be his theme and running gimmick And he'd tell the ladies how he is built like a black man, and we don't see him again for a few years after that. depends on where his final match with bigfoot takes place, if it's in the wilderness then as it is, if it's in a wrestling ring then he goes down as the one human to become a cryptid by beating another cryptid. It will be in the same woods Kevin Sullivan ran around to search for his father, the Master of the Dungeon of Doom. And he will also claim there are no Hulkamaniacs there.

Just to add to my initial post, I think him leaving in 2004 helped him as he went away and had he not gone away he would have outstayed him welcome long before now. I’ve watched the main event against angle at WM 19, and that shooting star press still makes me flinch.the look in his eyes at the end is kind of frightening, as hasn’t a clue where he is.

So according to Beastie Boy, he can't remember most of his first run due to his painkiller and alcohol addiction. That botch didn't exactly help, nor did shit like having Matt Hardy twat him in the back of the head with a steel chair and busting him wide open.

I have a high opinion of Brock as a performer, given his skill, legitimacy, look etc. So I’m hoping that after all this mess is said and done he comes out of in clean on the other side that way we don’t have to look back at a man’s 20 year long body of work with a side eye.
The wrestling nerd in me also wants to add that:
If Brock Lesnar had been the same exact person, with the same exact upbringing, athletic and school experience, all that.. AND a wrestling fan who wanted to pursue it as an art form, he would’ve been the absolute best big power guy to ever live. Imagine a Brock who loved strong style having a good 2 to 4 year run in NJPW as the big, unbeatable, Vader but technically sound killing machine. He’d be the biggest star in Japan. Over here he would’ve clearly still succeeded but we would’ve seen more high caliber matches out of him. He obviously still had some great moments and matches but if he had the passion to pursue it as art he’d have been the Kenny Omega of big men.

Lesnar was the realization of everything every wrestling promoter ever hoped for from a hoss. Everything guys like Warrior, Goldberg, etc stumbled with, Lesnar excelled at.
Especially with TKO owning both WWE and UFC now, I can see Brock’s legacy being that of the GOAT.

I have this unprovable theory that Lesnar low key killed the unskilled hoss in wrestling. Between his athleticism, build, and physical charisma, Brock was able to convey (mostly accurately) that he was capable of kicking anyone's ass. He had that Sid energy paired with actual skill. And while he was a very large man, he was clearly not the biggest guy around. Post-Brock, WWE would throw out these huge men who would become punchlines in a month. And I wonder how much that parade of failure is rooted in the fact that once you've seen Brock Lesnar, a bigger man who moves slowly and doesn't sell just does not come across as a badass the same way. Brock looked real, Snitsky and Koslov and Luther Reigns and Matt Morgan and Tomko looked like paper tigers in comparison.
