So hopefully this makes sense..
I've long struggled with social anxiety disorder and depression, when I started my job I told them straight up in the interview.
About a year into the job, I relapsed and I took a few weeks off work. I returned for a couple of months and then in October I was signed off sick and continue to be to this day.
For a while they were understanding, but since the new year it's clear they wanted rid of me and I'm concerned with how they've gone about it.
Letter 1 dated 3rd January was more of a check up letter as they hadn't heard from me in a few weeks.
"It is essential you contact me by 8th January"
Problem being, this letter didn't arrive until around 15th. On inspection, the envelope is stamped 12th, so I was never going to be able to respond in time.
With my health not improving, I reluctantly offered my resignation via email on 19th January.
Letter 2 & 3 go together:
Letter 2 is dated 22th January, where they say they are sad to receive my resignation but they don't intend to accept it yet as they'd like to talk to me and see if there is anything they can do to accommodate my return to work. "If I don't hear anything from you by 29th I will have no choice but to accept your resignation".
Letter 3 is dated 30th January, accepting my resignation as they'd not heard from me, "we are disappointed you have not allowed us to attempt to support your concerns".
Letter 2 & 3 are both stamped 2nd February, literally about 12 seconds apart and arrived together today (3rd).
So I was never able to reconsider my resignation, and its clear they didn't want me to and are trying to basically gaslight me by saying how disappointed they are that I didn't respond in time.
The irony being I was reconsidering my resignation 😂 so yeah, is this shit allowed?
Oh and I forgot to mention, I worked in a care home for people with mental health problems.
