Okay so I've only seen a handful of STARDOM matches and am not totally familiar with all the political shit, but it can't be a coincidence that like a month after Rossy jumps to WWE, STARDOM starts working with AEW (even if just for one show), right? Rossy didn’t jump to WWE. He’s starting his own promotion in Japan.

Parker Bourdreaux made his AAA debut last night attacking Octogon Jr and Mecha Wolf I know he's not as old as I keep thinking he is, but it keeps shocking me that Mecha Wolf (aka Mr. 450, aka Jesus De Leon, aka John Yurnet) is still getting work. If he teamed up with Jerrelle Clark they could be 1080 Misters!

I have not read every response, but it appears the consensus disagrees. I actually agree with you though, to a degree.
Once a year build up to a PPV, okay, I can get on board with that. Sacrificing TV time throughout the whole year for anyone outside of the AEW roster, I'm not feeling it. I want to see more HOB, Andrade when he was there, etc. When they do these AEW vs guys from outside companies, it feels like watching old school jobber matches because I already know who wins and I'd rather see 2 guys from AEW build toward something.
It's genuinely why I stopped watching maybe 2 years ago. Just doesn't appeal to me.

They don't really do this all year though nor do they sacrifice people like House of Black for these matches, if they did I feel like it'd be an issue, for most of these, the matches are building to something else, or build up actual stuff on the show outside of just being showcase matches Now can they sometimes just be a showcase? Yeah, but as we've seen with Ospreay and Okada, sometimes those are with the intent these guys become regulars, which imo is important too

Yeah, but as we've seen with Ospreay and Okada, sometimes those are with the intent these guys become regulars, which imo is important too I am inclined to take your word for it because I haven't watched in a while aside from a few minutes here and there. When I was watching, it seemed like there was a lot of focus on wrestlers from other companies, including ROH. For a new product and for someone unfamiliar with even a lot of the top AEW guys, I just would have preferred to see more of those guys beefing with each other. It didn't keep my attention because I don't have the history with ROH to care about the "crossovers" and wasn't interested in trying to get up to speed with the wrestlers from Japan when I'm not solid with the regular roster guys. Not enough to care unless they are in a program with maybe another person I am a little more familiar with? It was just how I perceived it at that period of time but it definitely could have changed or not been accurate over a long period. I was watching it a couple months pre Forbidden Door 1, I believe. Edited to say that, with the benefit of hindsight, knowing that AEW will eventually sign a decent amount of these guys, it makes a lot more sense than I gave credit for to "soft" intro these guys to an American audience. Not talking hardcore fans who watch everything but people like me, who just watches what is on TV.

While I do love the forbidden door being open, I do agree having these outside wrestlers lose does take some wind out of my sails. I think they need these one-off guys to win a match or two here and there.

Rocky Romero is an unsung hero of the Forbidden Door being open.

I do kind of wish they worked with Impact more. Those weeks with Omega with their belt were awesome.

Yes.
It's a distraction and the way they do it doesn't draw in new fans, but rather isolates them and makes people who dont know who these 'Forbidden' characters are feel 'less than.'
Equally, when you do it all the time, it isn't special, which means law of diminishing returns kicks in.

How do they isolate fans when every time someone new comes in they constantly talk about, and show who the are and what they can do and even why they're here?

I feel like that say the name and hammer that home, but little else. I'm not asking for much, some video packages, a couple of interviews maybe. Something to make me know and care about the person I don't know. You may feel they do this adequately. I feel they don't.

I hate the term “WHO” when discussing wrestling or pop culture, but there are CMLL guys or Japanese legends that are really deep cuts and most of them come in to lose. I’m the boards biggest Mance Warner mark but even I was confused when they brought him in. Then there’s guys like Ethan Page being downgraded to ROH and he hasn’t been seen since December. Danhausen hasn’t had a match since February. These guys aren’t injured what are we doing here?

Clearly that person does not watch the product.
