Cody is assembling a team of superfriends to counter the Bloodline.
Miz and his friends DIY are helping Truth with Judgment Day
New Day and Jey Uso are fully united against Imperium.
So, is the theme of this year’s show going to be the power of friendship thwarting these dastardly heel factions?

I guess the idea that main event faces could even have friends is a rebuke of Vince's booking post-2000.

I mean the counterpoint is that it seems likely that Bayley won't have any real friends backing her at Mania. While Iyo, Asuka, and Kairi all have each others backs. And probably Dakota at some point as well.

This is...the CHALLENGE OF THE SUPERFRIENDS!!!!! (Alas Animal nor Hawk are not around. Maybe Heidenreich?) Given Cody and his fandom, a comic-like superteam is not unusual coming from him.

I also love when a Mania has a story through line.
Like WM35 where Kofi, Becky and Miz all finally had enough of the McMahons screwing with them.

Eh, this is WWE. If the last several years have taught me anything it will go like this:
Seth will betray Cody, because HE wants to be the one to beat Roman, Truth will get his moment, but then Priest will cash in Money in the Bank later in the night rendering the win pointless, and Jey will get beat but "look strong in defeat". He will then never rise back to this level.
I really want to be more positive about it, but WWE is a heel territory.

Yeah, this is better than faces doing nothing, while their alignment-mates are being beaten senseless… because… I dunno… those pigs in a blanket at catering were just too damn good?

I loved that in the golden era of WWF the heels were always just chilling with each other for stuff like Macho’s coronation and the faces wouldn’t help each other at all. 😂
Heels are better friends: confirmed

Probably the first thing that needs to change in the TKO era, esp. with all the We Want Cody that forced WWE to course correct the WMXL. You anger the fans enough with misery booking, they’ll just tune in elsewhere.

I've always loved that it's a consistent character trait with Cena that everybody says they're his friend and he never even slightly tries to help them in return.

It's a very Dusty thing for Cody to have assembled a squad of friends to take on the dastardly faction. It feels old school and new at the same time.
