Jason Williams was one of my favorites at Duke. This is also an incredibly stupid take. But that's the market that ESPN has cornered. Outrage clicks for stupid bait. Hakeem was one of the best college centers of the last 45 years and he didn't win a title. Same with Ralph Sampson. You gonna tell me they're not as good as Emeka Okafor? Or Sean May?

We’ll see how she does as a pro, it’ll be a fair comparison then, we make the same arguments about the men , but there’s plenty of all time greats who didn't win anything in college

LeBron didn't win a national title either. He's a bum!

ESPN uses the same BS as the news channels and just says the most nonsensical shit to get outrage views
Caitlin Clark is a great player.

This idea that athletes only attain 'greatness' if they win titles is ridiculous.
You might be able to say that for something like golf, but no one player wins a basketball, football or baseball or any team title by themselves. There's been dozens of examples of some of the greatest players of all time who never even came close to winning a championship, and it's not because they weren't giving it 110%.

Except for 1995 Hakeem. That's the only time I'll say a player carried a team to a championship. He was unreal in the playoffs.

Some off the top of my head that never won anything: Barry Sanders: the greatest RB that I’ve ever seen. If Barry had the 90s Cowboys O Line he may never have been touched. lol Ken Griffey Jr: the best baseball player that I’ve ever seen Randy Moss: the best WR that I’ve seen.

There was a time, in days of old, when watching ESPN meant a lot of awesome highlights with charismatic anchors talking over them, along with some solid analysis of stats and whatnot when discussing sports news.
That was a long, long time ago. Before the dark times. Before the hot takes.

And she just passed "Pistol Pete" Maravich for all time points in the college game. Yeah, the 3 pointer helps out a lot, but the record still stood all these years in spite of that. Congrats to Caitlin Clark!

That was a long, long time ago. Before the dark times. Before the hot takes. I still have to quote the mocking way they used the slogan for Jared Jewelers whenever I pass one of those store. I don’t even remember the context for how they used it. I assume that it involved some player named Jared, but I don’t remember who that could have been.
