The Marcus Cor Von name and theme were real head scratchers. Lets not forget, his russian leg sweep/Fujiwara Armbar finisher 🤔 That was the most insane part of his ECW run for me. Cor Van is this intense, high impact, run through a brick wall guy… and they make his signature move a regular pop spot and give him this completely unimpactful finish that would never get a reaction. All the heat was dead by the time he got through his new multi-step submission finisher.

I like how Jarrett said the reason he didn't drop the title to Brown was because there was a lack of heel challengers, as if that isn't something they couldn't fix in a month or two. I mean, even dropping it to Brown, then getting a rematch at the next PPV gets you from January to March.
But nope... Jarrett just had to book himself to be "the guy". He just had to try to make himself look like a big leaguer despite practically everyone understanding that it was unrealistic and uninteresting. It's the reason why when he returned to WWE, they put him in the stupid suspenders and the goofy hat because he was a glorified midcarder.
Always liked Brown, obviously his career was likely going to be limited regardless of how he was booked, but I would have loved to have seen him booked as the top guy in TNA, especially when the rest of the undercard was just awesome. Jarrett's ego was the only weak point for TNA at that time.

Even more so, when the biggest thing he had about him was the pounce, thankfully they quickly changed his finisher to the pounce
