That definitely seemed to be the implication of that segment between Aldis and the Stupid Name Republic. If so it's waaaay past time.

They've got enough teams now to justify it. Plus it would be nice for Smackdown to get another full time championship back.

Like I’ve said a few times, they’ve got two way healthier divisions now with the belts unified than many times in the past where they didn’t but persisted with two sets of belts anyway.

I don't see why they can't just lose one set of belts in a match. There have been a few times they have been defended individually. It is not like Judgment Day needs to be protected like Roman Reigns. They already lose a decent amount.

And this week Aldis apparently just completely forgot about it I guess.

And this week Aldis apparently just completely forgot about it I guess. *surrounded by the five security teams he hired tonight* "I know there was something I was meant to do today, but I don't know what..."

I'd rather they split the belts but hey, I feel like Mania's lost something not having an annual giant clusterf*** spotfest on it so why not.

Could see a scenario where one team grabs one set of belts, and the other gets the other set of belts, and that’s how the split happens.

If they did want to split the tag belts, one team grabbing a set and a second team grabbing the other would be the way to do it.

Going to guess the teams will be Bate & Dunne, New Day, Imperium, Miz & Truth, and DIY.

Crazy how deep the division is. I can think of a dozen worthy teams.
Judgment Day New Day DIY Awesome Truth Creed Brothers Alpha Academy (if Gable loses tonight) Imperium Pretty Deadly Dunne/Bate Street Profits AOP LWO Legado

Judgment Day New Day DIY Awesome Truth Creed Brothers Alpha Academy (if Gable loses tonight) Imperium Pretty Deadly Dunne/Bate Street Profits AOP LWO Legado Miz and Truth are a lock. Feels like Dunne and Bate will be too. Kind of think we’re getting a 6/8 person match with AOP and Street Profits. So I wouldn’t expect them in this. Gonna guess New Day and DIY get 2 spots. That leaves one? Maybe makeshift team of midcarders that don’t have a match. Ricochet + someone maybe?

I really wish Pretty Deadly would make it in.

I really wish Pretty Deadly would make it in. They're a team that's really suffering a lot from how nothing the tag title scene is and how awful SmackDown's time management is. If they were actually being given screentime they'd be killing it.

I always wanted to see a 2 fall ladder match for 2 different titles. 4 guys (2 champs, 2 challengers) go for one belt and then there's a small break where they hang the 2nd title and then that fall starts.
I think it would be interesting for the psychology alone. A defending champion could go from playing defense to desperately trying to not leave without a title over the course of the 2 falls.

I wonder if they'll split the titles somehow (2 teams grabbing different belts) or if they'll finally introduce the new belts they apparently made ages ago

I feel like a spot (if not the finish) of the match at Mania has to have Damien about to grab the belts to win when R-Truth suddenly grabs the ladder or meets him at the top. Priest tries to give him a Judgment Day shirt to make him a member and let Judgment Day win when Truth gives him a crotch chop before knocking Damien off the ladder through a bunch of tables or something.

TNA did something similar. They did a 4 team ladder match for the TNA and IWGP tag belts. They had them up on two different hooks and seperate teams won them.

And that happened because the British Invasion(Aldis & Doug Williams) beat the Dudleyz in a Table Match to win the IWGP World Tag Team Championship. Without getting okm from NJPW.

Three RAW qualifying matches will be New Day v Alpha Academy (Otis/Tozawa), DIY v Creed Brothers and Miz/R-Truth v Indus Sher. Couple of obvious winners there in New Day and Miz/R-Truth, but it's a shame either DIY or the Creed Brothers will miss out here, because I'd have had both in there. Oh well, the Creeds are young, they got many WrestleManias ahead of them if they stay healthy.
