Tommy Oliver joining the Power Rangers. Power Rangers was a popular weekday show, but the Green with Evil arc had everyone talking about it and surpassed Ninja Turtles as the mega toy franchise of the 90s It was such a dramatic shift to the formula, which had been largely formulaic and neatly wrapped up each episode up to that point. Introducing an evil Power Ranger who could beat up our heroes and the bad guys largely putting them on the backfoot for four episodes was just something else.

Perhaps a controversial one Jefferson was a much better neighbour than Steve on Married With Children. Not controversial at all. Steve completely changed the series from a family driven dramady, into a slapstick sci-fi comedic farce. Steve completely overtook the show.

Jefferson Darcy was SO much funnier than Steve Rhodes as Marcie's Husband on Married With Children.

Perhaps a controversial one Jefferson was a much better neighbour than Steve on Married With Children. Not controversial at all. Steve completely changed the series from a family driven dramady, into a slapstick sci-fi comedic farce. Steve completely overtook the show. Meanwhile, Jefferson was still a background character. The Bundys were still front and center. Just two points on that, OG Married fans tend to greatly prefer Steve and Ted McGinley has a reputation, deserved or not, as a sitcom killer. So depending on your company, it could be a controversial opinion.

Steve's definitely not a bad character, has his funny moments for sure, but Jefferson really does fit the show a lot better. He's much more over the top and the added irony of how Al and Marcy are effectively in the same position but still hate each other, while Al's best friend has all the same traits he hates in his wife, just accentuates the premise of the show really well.

Steve was fine for the original concept of the show - an older, more cynical long-time married couple contrasted against a younger, newlywed married couple. But as the show continued it basically evolved into a live-action cartoon about white trash, and Jefferson was a much better fit for that environment.

Adding Holly to King of Queens in the 4th Season was a good addition. It was hilarious that they hired a dog walker to walk Arthur.

Matt Berry as Douglas Reynholm in The IT Crowd. While Chris Morris was amazing in his role in the first season as Denholm (his Stress speech is one of my favorites), Douglas took the rest of the series to a whole different (slightly perverted) level!

Adding Jimmy Smits to replace David Caruso on NYPD Blue.

Perhaps a controversial one Jefferson was a much better neighbour than Steve on Married With Children. Steve was almost too "high brow" a character for the show. Jefferson fit the dynamic perfectly as he was more of lovable scumbag type.
