Ric Flair the Definitve Collection DVD set was made in 2008. On this set that was made in 2008, there’s a documentary. Was that documentary ported from the 2002 dvd set with these two additions (his retirement (hehe) match with Shawn at WM24 and his retirement ceremony the following night)? Those last two moments are on the 2017 WWE Network documentary Ric Flair: Forever The Man. Were those last two moments the only moments on the documentary Ric Flair Forever The Man?

The first Flair DVD set was just matches, may have had some stuff between but not a full on doc. That came out in 2002? That can't be right.....

They're completely different. The 2003 set doesn't have a documentary. It is just match after match with Flair providing some context before each one. The 2008 set has a documentary on disc 1, followed by matches on discs 2 and 3.

In 2012 there was a both a single disk release that was just the documentary from the 2008 set, as well as a four disk WWE documentaries set which I believe may have had that Flair doc on it. So, the source of the 2012 date could be from either of those. I believe that was also the year that the Flair doc hit Netflix.
