Jack Perry's punishment? excursion to NJPW seems like a fruitful trip already and as brought up in that thread, it would be a good move for AEW to let more talent go on excursions to other companies. It had me thinking about who would benefit the most from it, and how this could help with AEW's huge ass roster to let people who might be getting lost in the shuffle go make a name for themselves elsewhere. It doesn't have to solely be NJPW trips as well, given AEW's partnerships with other promotions. So as the title says who would you 🫵 like to see from AEW go on an excursion?

Anna Jay is the top one. She really seems like she would benefit from getting outside the AEW bubble, since she has effectively zero experience elsewhere.

Daniel Garcia. I'd love to see him have a NJPW run. Think he could kill it in the Junior Heavyweight division.

Dunno about TJPW really, to where I suspect that's why we haven't seen any AEW wrestlers do real excursions there, just guest spots. TJPW flat does not run enough to where a foreign wrestler can get that multi-week grind to really change or improve. I don't know that she'd get anything from a weekend doing two matches with, say, Miu Watanabe and Arisu Endo, that she wouldn't get from AEW. I'm still surprised they haven't booked the Renegades, though.

Especially when the Rossy-loyal talent starts leaving Stardom for his new promotion, there's a lot of AEW talent that can fill the holes until they can sign of train up new talents.

Which is more important?
Sending people you [SQUARE] already know would kill it?
Or sending people who aren't getting a lot of TV time right now and could use the reps?

I would lean to the latter cuz you could have someone not on TV a lot and give them a shot to elevate their game "undesirable to undeniable" style.

I am always in favor of increasing the number of wrestlers that I would enjoy seeing, or increase my enjoyment and/or the chance of success of said wrestlers. I was a Nigel McGuinness hater before his NOAH tour, and enjoyed Jack Evans even more after he went to Dragon Gate; any improvement like that just makes the show better for me.

Top Flight or Private Party would probably do okay in NJPW. The Jr. Heavyweight tag scene isn't exactly stacked to the gills, so NJPW would probably welcome either or both of them.

If he wasn't a dad, I would say Sammy G needs one stat. And not to Mexico. He needs to go to a place that'll get him out of his comfort zone, because he's been deep in there for years.
For younger talent, Anna Jay is at the top of the list. And either Private Party or Top Flight would benefit too.

Powerhouse Hobbs going on a tear as a Monster Gajin heel could make him reach that next level

Action Andretti could be a dude that greatly benefits from an excursion somewhere, he has the tools, a place like New Japan could help refine him.

Powerhouse Hobbs going on a tear as a Monster Gajin heel could make him reach that next level I didn't realize how much I wanted this until now. When was the last time New Japan had a full-blown monster gaijin anyway, would that be going all the way back to Giant Bernard?

Depends what you mean by "full-blown," since there have certainly been dominant gaijin and monster gaijin, but there haven't really been any huge heavyweights who have been sustained main event fixtures off the top of my head. I'd chalk it up to convergent (or perhaps co-dependent) evolution to what's happened in the US, since Bernard in NJPW and Bison Smith in NOAH very much hit ceilings and there have not really been monsters who have gotten any bigger since. Hell, Max the Impaler in TJPW is probably as close as there is to the archetype being done unironically right now.

Anna Jay is actually a really good shout. I think she definitely has something so going on excursion to help her find that something would be great

I think Willow would be great doing the she-1 for EVE, and she'd benefit from more working against other powerhouses. Especially of she got to face Yuu.
But yeah Anna Jay is the top choice to benefit to aew, not so much benefit to other promotions though beyond name value. Would be better if Tay Conti could join her.

It seemed like JONAH was in line to become that, but then he went back to WWE.
