If this was an intentional attack it would've been at a much busier time than "1:30 am on a bridge that's currently limiting traffic due to construction with warning given out beforehand to avoid even more casualties." People's brains are rotted. It's also not an issue with the condition of the bridge before being hit. It wasn't designed to have one of its supports slammed into by a few hundred thousand tons. It’s like how some wank on about 9/11 and the various “inconsistencies” in the way the towers fell. Give me another example of when something that size, with that amount of weight behind it and the amount of fuel on board was smashed into a massive building at speeds of hindered of miles an hour. What happened to the building in that case? You can’t say because it never f***ing happened before.

If any positive comes out of this, it's the beginning of people calling these racists out for the "DEI" shit.

If any positive comes out of this, it's the beginning of people calling these racists out for the "DEI" shit. It’s not like they weren’t being called out for their racism before this. Just like before, they will get apoplectic at being rightfully called racist then not even remotely tone down the racist rhetoric.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that a city with a near 70% non-white population would have a lot of people of color in its administration. Racists are such clowns.

Nothing on the planet is designed to be able to withstand being hit with over 100,000 tons. So many people think it was hit by something slightly bigger than a yacht. A ship that size would hit a yacht, destroying it, and not even feel it.

Yeah, when I first heard about this I automatically thought it was just a regular ship and then I saw a photo of it and it made a lot more sense. Those freighters are huge - you only had to look at the number of cargo containers on it to realise how large and heavy it would have been.

DEI stands for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It's been a thing especially in business for a few years now, described as "organizational frameworks which seek to promote "the fair treatment and full participation of all people"."

Diversity, equity, and inclusion. A number of companies and government agencies started DEI programs to specifically recruit more women, minorities, etc. The thinking is that diversity brings more mindsets into the company, finds quality underrepresented candidates, and overall strengthen the company/agencies. Some people hate DEI, presumably because they want don’t want those people to get those jobs.

Bigger than most aircraft carriers in size and much heavier when loaded to the brim with shipping containers filled with cargo. Only thing really larger are some of those super-massive cruise ships like the Royal Caribbean Oasis-class vessels and the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner.

I used to think something may be up with 9/11 until I saw the absolutely brilliant debunking the History Channel and Popular Mechanics did on it. They just ripped that film, "Loose Change," to shreds. Of course that was back when the History Channel was watchable.

Living several hours away from Baltimore as part of the DMV area, this completely sucks.
At least someone was able to notify authorities this might happened so they could stop people coming on and lower the casualties although I wish those people in road repair also got off the bridge.
Hope the government don't play politics with getting this bridge rebuilt, but I sadly think we are getting that.

My friend who lives in the area sent me a picture of a sign saying "the Key Bridge is closed" with a caption of that's not ENTIRELY accurate...
