You know, as I was thinking about Godzilla (as I have more than occasionally done), I thought of something interesting to ask. While most people will probably say their favorite Godzilla film is where Godzilla is alone as the Monster, I started to wonder what are people's favorite Godzilla film where Godzilla isn't alone in the carnage.
So everyone who sees this post: What is your favorite Godzilla film where Godzilla has other monsters to fight with/ play with?
Mine is Godzilla vs. Destroyah.

"Ebirah, Horror of the Deep", mainly because it felt like it was it's own movie before the main characters accidently find Godzilla and wake it up to fight Ebirah.

Godzilla vs. Megalon is a fun one. Loved it ever since I was a little kid and got the VHS.
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla and Terror of Mechagodzilla are both rad.

Godzilla Final Wars.
Because it revels in its stupidity and comes out one of the most entertaining movies of all time.
And Don Frye's moustache.

The two MechaGodzilla films from the early 2000s were fun.

Always been a fan of the rather bizarre Godzilla vs King Ghidorah because of all the wacky shit they tried to stuff in it: time travel, terminators, Godzillasaurus, Japan being such a global superpower that it threatens all reality, Dorlocks(spelling?) Mecha King Ghidorah and then it ends with something like "I am your great 197 times supreme grandchild"
A delightful batshit crazy movie.

And Ghidora for the only time ever is a good guy.
Everything about this film is top tier.

Godzilla vs. Megalon is a fun one. Loved it ever since I was a little kid and got the VHS. Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla and Terror of Mechagodzilla are both rad. It had the Godzilla flying dropkick. That alone makes it special. Megalon’s backstory and design were also something I liked. What I didn’t like was the addition of Gigan. As a kid it made no sense to me and I’d have preferred that Megalon be powerful enough that Jet Jaguar needed to help rather than the last minute 2v2.

I knew that, but the way the story unfolds, there isn't even a hint of Godzilla (or King Kong) being around at all until about an hour in. It's an adventure film about teens who get stranded on an island with a tribe of natives enslaved by a terrorist group who control a giant crab that attacks passing cargo ships and as they try to fight back someone falls into a crevasse and SURPRISE the biggest baddest kaiju is there sleeping. For me, it was like the shift in tone in "From Dusk Till Dawn".

I had Godzilla vs. Gigan, don’t know if it’s the best, but it’s the one I watched the most.

That's because it was supposed to be a King Kong movie, but something happened so Godzilla replaced Kong. Godzilla vs The Seamonster has a very special place in my heart. It was the late 80's and I spent the week of my birthday in the hospital with a ruptured appendix. Somehow, despite the copious quantities of painkillers in my system, I vividly remember seeing an add for Godzilla vs The Seamonster being the Friday midnight movie on a local channel. I loved Godzilla but being a kid in Iowa back then meant it was hard AF to get Godzilla anything. Anywho, the movie came on and I remember getting livid after about 20 minutes because I was like "what in the hell? Did they lie? Are they showing the wrong movie? Where's Godzilla?" I'm pretty sure I fell asleep/passed out for like an hour+ and then I remember waking up to Godzilla and the movie ended like 10 seconds later. I was really confused for a couple years about the movie. it's not like I could have just gone on the 'net and googled it back then.
