She does but as her child becomes school-age, you wonder if she’d prefer a once a week AEW schedule. Yeah, the math may end up checking out for her. I always wondered how tough it is raising a kid when both parents are wrestlers and on the road constantly.

We seem to be talking about AEW targeting WWE talent, so this belongs here. Hunter doesn't seem to be happy that they can't just easily sign whoever they want like they could in the past
HHH is still a douche, I'm shocked. He sounds like a guy who got turned down by a woman and was like, "Well you're ugly anyway!" I got major old man thinks the old way of hard work is the only way. Major boomer vibes

If any other head of talent relations said this, Ace, JR etc, they’d still be douches but they’d be speaking from what the boss wanted from his talents. HHH saying this? A founding member of the Kliq? A part time talent for the last 10 years before his heart attack took that away? The power emitting from that irony would literally solve the energy crisis.

HHH's comments makes me think of Nick Wayne and Billie Starkz. Since signing with AEW they've still been able to hustle, grind and those things HHH likes. They've travelled the world and faced all sorts of people in different environments, including each other.
Nick has been in the ring with the likes of E&C, Sting, The Great Sasuke, Kenta, MCMG, Ospreay, Shun Skywalker and got to perform at Wembley and Korakuen Hall. Billie has been able to learn from Athena while facing the top Joshi, Mike Bailey, Mao and has main evented Korakuen Hall.
Would HHH give them the same oppurtunities? No, they'd be in developmental for years grinding to get a fraction of what they've achieved as teenagers, before even finishing school in some cases. Billie wouldn't be able to learn from wrestling guys. And he knows it, that's why he's trying to build relationships to get his wrestlers similar experiences.

A guy that mocked industry "marks" using industry mark selling points to sign people is hilarious In a job he’s in where one of the roles is to attract talent. Like, the lack of self awareness is astounding.

As amusing as Nick Wayne and Billie Starkz in NXT would be, I don't think they'd actually develop much compared to what they're doing now both inside and outside the AEW environment.

HHH’s attitude cost them Jade Cargill at the beginning of her career. She went for a tryout at the PE and mentioned that she had a young family who would take priority over wrestling only to get “DIS BUSINESS!” yelled at her by Hunter or one of his sycophants. I had assumed he had chilled out with age. With wrestlers peaking at the 35-40 age range now a great many are not only going to have young children but also aged parents who will need time and attention.

Considering TKO doesn't want to pay UFC guys, they probably don't want to pay potential WWE Free Agents either. Yeah I suspect that plays a part too. I think you can get guys to sign though even for less money, as long as you're less rigid but signing for WWE is always going to involve moving to the States full time, working way more dates, making changes to your style, possibly even having to work NXT and probably comes with a lot less assurances about how you'll will be used with a few exceptions. Like I imagine Tony promised Ospreay a far bigger role than WWE did who'd be more likely to just think he should be just grateful they want him. A bit like running Wembley really, WWE could do a show there rather than far less famous arenas in Scotland and Wales but I believe want someone who'd pay them for the privilege rather than the other way round. It's just their way of thinking I guess. Reading H's full quote again and it's just mind boggling, the "I'm glad I didn't choose you" bit is playground stuff and quite literally the opposite of what happened, Ospreay chose AEW. WWE just can't really compete right now, unless TKO opens the checkbooks. HHH is going to go increasingly more insane trying to keep looking like a tough guy while he just won't be able to offer talent what TK can.

They’ve probably been told they need to not pay talent as much before trying to sign anyone and figuring out who to keep and who not. They’re keeping Charlotte and signed Jade so it feels like, unless something wild happens, Becky’s gone. Same for keeping Seth and Cody and letting Drew and Sheamus go (unless, again, something wild happens).

At the same time, I think different people use the freedom they have differently. It’s going well in the case of Nick Wayne and Billie. Then you’ve got a case of Anna Jay vs Skye Blue, both with the same freedom but one is still grinding hard on the indies while Anna Jay doesn’t and has really plateaued over the past few years. Pillman Jr is another case where he clearly needed more instruction and less freedom. It’s a case by case thing imo.

Stu’s Twitter looks like it doesn’t address this. Did he say something somewhere I can’t find? Also the Tate’s should’ve just driven, but if they were waiting for instructions, I see why they’d expect better communication. They should’ve been way more proactive though it looks like.

And you’re trusting an anonymous twitter account LARPing as a twenty-year veteran why exactly? When travel issues have been an issue for AEW in the past and even the account your quoting doesn’t show any proof of Tony Khan’s claim that they no-showed multiple times?
