Hi. Hello. Been a while FAN.
A question came into my mind earlier today. Which matches have the commentators stopped commentating and "let the action speak for itself"? I was watching Bryan/Shibata earlier and even though I like Tony/Nigel I wish they would have remained silent for it.
I'll start by saying Do Fixer/Blood Generation from ROH. Well deserved and it added even more to the match in my book. As a PWG guy I feel like mentioning the none commentary audio for the DVDs/Blu-ray's.

For how overproduced the Vince/Dunn era was, it is shocking how long commentary is silent after Michael Cole said “The streak….is over”

Remember that weird time Mike Adamle walked out on ECW and Tazz followed, leaving the main event match with no commentary?

Remember that weird time Mike Adamle walked out on ECW and Tazz followed, leaving the main event match with no commentary? First thing I thought of. And then there was no payoff or explanation for it the next week. Maybe a brief mention of it and then it was never mentioned again.

Gorilla and Macho Man ignored Art Donovan after the last match on KOTR 94 and Art never spoke again.

The Sandman's return to ECW in 1999 was done with no commentary. As soon as the lights went out to set up his appearance on the stage, Joey Styles stopped talking and didn't say a word for the rest of the segment.

They hire this guy and soon discover he has trouble doing live interviews. So instead of keeping him in taped segments, they keep making him do live broadcasts, promote him to lead announcer on one of their shows, and then make him GM of their LIVE show! They threw Adamle to the wolves, and it looks even worse now that we’ve learned he’s been suffering from dementia.

After Nexus destroyed everyone and everything at ringside and killed the announcers too so that it was all just the ambient noise in the arena and fans was great.

The Boiler Room Brawl from Summerslam 1996 had very little, if any, commentary while Taker and Mankind were in the boiler room.

When JBL obliterated Eddie Guerrero with the steel chair at Judgment Day 2004 but that's due to Eddie/JBL brawling near the commentary table.

Gorilla and Macho Man ignored Art Donovan after the last match on KOTR 94 and Art never spoke again. This is a fact. He died not knowing how much Roddy Piper weighed or if Jerry Lawler was really a king.

It was such an odd choice having Art Donovan, who had never done wrestling commentary from what I understand, on for the entire show. If they wanted him on commentary, because he was a big name and a local legend, having him on for one match would have been better. At all other times when they used celebs at this time, they had them on for five/ten minute segments, not the whole show.

Pretty sure the commentators went quiet for the end of Jeff Hardy v Edge at Rumble 09 when Matt hits Jeff with the chair.

When Ric Flair showed up at the announce table on Superstars in 91 to cause trouble. Picked a fight with Piper and decked him with the belt so that's one commentator gone. Savage then got up to play peace maker which left Vince at the table by himself and soon he got up and got accidentally knocked out by a chair by Piper. The rest of the segment including replays then had no commentary. Complete chaos and an excellent segment.

^not technically a match. Flair had one scheduled but opted to go mess with Piper instead and the match (against Mark Thomas) never happened.

Not a match, but the Brother Love segment where Earthquake laid out Hogan had no commentary, which was odd (I was expecting to hear Vince use his righteous indignation tone and Jesse to gleefully enjoy it).
