I am curious as to who made the call that the major Wrestlemania song needed a quote about a PPV (Survivor Series) that wasn't Wrestlemania, from a talent that didn't work there (Jimmy Garvin) via a segment that didn't air (Garvin's tryout).

Jimmy was awful in that tryout. I wouldn't think a guy whose been around a decade or longer would need a tryout but that there was the reason. DDP was awful in his WWF tryout but made up for it. I wonder if Michael Hayes got a tryout before becoming Dok.

I love that WWE has the song on its official YouTube channel.
I still have my copy of WrestleMania: The Album and put it in the CD player now and then. I knew that Simon Cowell was an executive producer, but it was only in the last year or so that I learned that many of the songs came from the same songwriting team that gave us Never Gonna Give You Up. Blew my mind.
In the past the company has released videos of old Raw theme songs with footage of current stars; I’d be curious to see what that might look like with the WrestleMania song. WWE sorta did it later in the year when it was released, using new clips and cutting out the Nasty Boys’ part since they had left the company. They also removed the famous question that starts the song.
I had no idea WWE did that until I happened to stumble across it while browsing through the WWE Network.

I spent approximately 37% of the middle 90s singing this song to myself.

I love that in an album where all the wrestlers sing about how tough they are, Bret Hart's song just ends up being a sappy breakup song that has nothing to do with wrestling.

When did Linda stop using the instrumental version of this song? She was still using it as late as 2000 when even the instrumental version was outdated and during a time when wrestling was popular yet only the HARDEST of hardcores recognized it.

A few years ago I came up with the theory that "are you ready for the Survivor Series?" was supposed to be like some guy who was an idiot and caused a metaphorical record scratch. The guy saying "it's 93, it's time for Wrestlemania" was the response to the first comment. It's more like, "what are you? Stupid? It's 93, it's time for Wrestlemania. Survivor Series happened already."
Do I believe this was the intended meaning? Not at all.

Wasn't there another version of this song with Bulldog and Mountie in it?

Wasn't there another version of this song with Bulldog and Mountie in it? Bulldog is on SummerSlam Jam. The Mountie wasn’t involved in any of this.

Wasn't there another version of this song with Bulldog and Mountie in it? Bulldog had some lines in the "SummerSlam Jam" song. However, the WWF did release updated music videos of both that song and "WrestleMania" in the summer of 1993. In the updated versions, the Nasty Boys were removed because they were now in WCW and clips were added of Lex Luger as a babyface.

Of the featured "vocalists", only Tatanka and Bret Hart actually survived 1993.

TIL that was Jimmy Garvin. I don't know if Hidden Gems are still on Peacock but it was one of the last hidden gems uploaded before the switch.
