I was heading back from class to base housing. Heard the news on the radio.
They were the one huge band from that era I just never got to see live. Don't think Nirvana ever played NOLA.

22 years today since Layne Staley as well. RIP to both, the music lives on.

I'm honestly 50/50 on whether or not he committed suicide.
That out of the way, Nirvana's days were numbered as it were. Dave already had a lot of FF material written and had a Foot out the door

I remember when the news broke-it was a Friday and I worked second shift and got home and my brother met me at the door and told me-he was watching on our little tv in the kitchen and I taped MTV throughout that weekend. I need to get that transferred as I haven't seen it since. I listened to all their cassettes that weekend. I cannot remember much else specifically, but there was talk of others being depressed and Kurt Loder urged them to "Get Help" if that was in fact the case. It was a moment that brought people together really, albeit sadly, especially Kurt Loder keeping us updated

Dave already had a lot of FF material written and had a Foot out the door Without getting too far into conspiracy theories, it is an urban legend I COULD see being real. But that could be me being ready to think the worse about certain people.

That out of the way, Nirvana's days were numbered as it were. Dave already had a lot of FF material written and had a Foot out the door I've posted about this before, but I think had he not died, the state he was in Cobain probably would have burnt out and disappeared from public view into a haze of mental illness and/or smack at some point in the mid-nineties a la Layne Staley and Evan Dando. I wasn't really old enough for Nirvana, but I do remember they were a band who some cool, older kids I knew liked. By the time I was old enough to listen to them they'd kind of attained mythical status because he'd died.

I'm honestly 50/50 on whether or not he committed suicide. I am pretty much convinced that he didn't.

So he'd be 57 if he were still alive today.
Loves me the old Seattle Grunge.. I consider the big 4 Nirvana/Alice in Chains/Soundgarden/Pearl Jam.
It saddens me to know that only 1 of the 4 vocalists is still alive today.
