Barely helped... arguably harmed Cody's chances

Seth's the reason Cody won, though. Roman had the chair, could have beaten the absolute piss out of Cody and pinned him Mania 17 style. Instead, he let the whole Shield bullshit get in his head again, took a swing at Seth and that was it.
I'd argue Seth's more of a made man than ever.

When Seth left the ring... he shook Cody's hand and then pointed and said words to Cody intimating he's going to be coming after the title.

I'm just exaggerating for comic effect but I thought it was funny how he just got hit, fell asleep to the point where I thought it was a fake Rollins for some reason.

The big question is where were the other Shield members to help Seth! Where was Kurt Angle and HHH!

As an aside, did anyone else think for like a split second that somehow Mox was going to be there when that Shield music hit? I know there was no chance but with all of the stuff happening I was like "wait..."

Seth's worst weekend ever (in story, as a pro it has to be up there with his best) felt very intentional and designed to give him a legitimate gripe Vs Cody down the line.

Cody will always be the main thing remembered about this show in the future but Seth was arguably the MVP of the whole weekend (shout out Samantha Irvine too). Helped carry that tag match, put over Drew and had a full-circle moment for his character a decade in the making.
He's never really atoned for that night he betrayed Roman and Mox and has been an egomaniac ever since even during face runs. For the first time ever he was truly selfless and was Cody's "shield" like he said he would be. He's just back from injury and teamed with Cody one night, leaving him worn down for Drew to pick apart the next night then he still shows up and plays the final ace card, invoking The Shield, the one thing Roman has never gotten over and always causes him to lose composure.
That handshake and look of relief/satisfaction when he shook Cody's hand at the end was amazing. He knows he did the right thing by helping Cody even if he had to make sacrifices to do it. It was a perfect moment and I'll be disappointed if they have Seth do a heel turn on Cody in the future after that.

I hate the fact I also had that thought since it was through a friend on Discord telling me stuff where I was like "This company who didn't let Lex Luger be seen on Camera for Sting's retirement wouldn't have pulled off a one night Ambrose return, right?" Hate only because I knew I was just falling for it haha He's still trying to find his way down the stairs of the stadium >_> I'd love if Mox went to the stadium and got a clip of him running to the field and going "I'm here to help you, Seth! Wait, where is everyone?"

There's way more story in him
a) Getting his ass beat fighting a fight he didn't need to. b) Losing his belt while the guy he stuck his neck out for wins.
He doesn't even need to fully turn heel, Seth having two bad nights will give him more to work with.

"But when it comes to fighting the Bloodline, when it comes to fighting The Rock, when it comes to fighting Roman Reigns, there is only one man on Earth who is uniquely suited to be your shield." Seth told us what role he was gonna play in this, he told everybody that taking down the Bloodline was bigger than him. He was Cody's shield in the biggest moment, he knew what he had to do to stop Roman. He came down in the Shield gear because of it, Roman has never been able to let Seth betraying him go.

If they really go somewhere with this, it'd be the kind of character-driven storytelling I usually get on WWE for not doing enough; dude put himself through a horrible weekend professionally for "the greater good" and someone else's crowning moment, now that either needs to drive him to more fully embracing a self-sacrificing heroic approach or start eating at him because he's seeing what doing the right thing got him and not very impressed. Don't have him talk too much about it, show it in how he starts pursuing the world title.

If they’re both still in WWE when one of them decides to call it a day, a Career vs Career match between Roman & Seth would be bonkers business.

He harmed nothing, he was Cody's shield. Sacrificed himself to distract Roman. It worked perfectly.

Yeah, Seth was barely able to walk after his lose to Drew. He was physically and mentally destroyed yet still attempted to run interference for Cody to stop The Bloodline. I'm pretty sure Seth, and Becky, are about to go take some time off so I think every part of his presentation this weekend was intentional.

I know there was no chance but with all of the stuff happening I was like "wait..." There was several guys I wish Trips would have worked out a deal with to o appear and Mox was one. Guess it doesn’t make sense for him to distract Roman with his mere presence if it’s lot leading to a cross promotion feud. No reason they shouldn’t have borrowed Dustin though unless he was there and I missed him.
