So do you think Cody and Priest take turns main eventing PLEs and defending their world titles or Cody will work every show moving forward?

They legit booked him as the guy that was going to be a working mans champion. They kinda have to deliver on that promise.

Given what a workhorse Cody is I'm guessing he'll be making it to most PPVs, though could maybe see him occasionally doing side stuff instead of just defending the belt. Guessing we're not going to be going four months in between title defenses or anything though.

If a show is important enough to be deemed a PPV then there better be title defenses. Way too many PPV's during Roman's reign were glorified tv episodes.

If he's not defending at every PLE I can see him at least having a segment or there's a match for the number 1 contender against him. He's going to have some sort of focus. He's consistently been here so I doubt that'll change.

I've never really been on board with less matches makes them feel more important. Yes in some cases it might feel like wasting a match (basically every non wm match for Roman) but it's on them to build it up. Fighting champions are great and the best of them can make you feel like any match could be the match where they lose it. That said, the title shold definitely be more present. It's basically been a ghost for three years and there was also that period where it was a ghost with Brock. Give it some prominence again.

As others have said, if it's not on a PLE, have a contender's match for it. Do something with the belt.

When Cole said the other night that Roman had 31 title defenses in his reign or whatever it was, my jaw dropped. Like, that's not something to brag about, WWE. Champions who work house shows do that in less than three months.

I expect Cody will defend a couple of times per month on TV, a couple of times per week on house shows and at most PLEs.

I feel like part of the whole Cody thing in gimmick and reality was wanting to defend this title more or less constantly

I read some post the other week that Roman would have to defend the title over 300 times in 6 months to actually match Hogan’s reign.

He works every Raw, some Smackdowns and house shows. He's as full-time as it gets so you'd have to think he'll be on every PPV during his reign unless he picks up an injury and has to miss a few weeks like Rollins missing RR/EC.

I don't think he needs to defend the title every month, but he should be doing something. A tag match, special enforcer, Survivor Series matches etc. Just have him in the mix.

With there being four world champions in WWE’s main roster at any given time, I’m definitely fine with him not defending the belt at every show, but he should defend at most of them. There can be months where he just has a segment or is in a tag match, but those shouldn’t be often.

I’m gonna guess Cody is defending 10 out of 12 PPV’s but still appearing on every PPV.

Although, I really hope Cody doesn’t carry this belt through next Mania. Have him lose it for a few months in the fall, don’t let him get Cena’d.
