Eddie Kingston and Kevin Owens they just look like jerks you would see starting crap at the bar. Nick Wayne looks child. I’m no tough guy but I feel wrestlers should have a larger than life look to them. Not someone I wouldn’t back down from in a fight. There's no shortage of bouncers at bars who look just like Kevin or Eddie who would mess most people up in a fight and in fact do on a nightly basis. I have no problem buying either of them as wrestlers.

Since Shane seems to be running away with this, I’ll throw out Stephanie when she first started. That was sort of the point during her Women’s Title reign but when she was fighting Trish in early 2001, Trish had that thicc fitness model build and yet Steph, looking like she could bench 35 lbs, usually whupped up on her. She shared Shane’s magical McMahon toughness I guess.
When Steph started hitting the gym, she looked fine (and I do mean fine) in her later ring appearances but those first couple years, nah.

I could take 1999-2001 Shane McMahon in crazy hardcore/street fight type matches with him using weapons/shortcuts to stay afloat but when he was in regular matches or actually presented as a badass who could go toe to toe with your Kanes and Undertakers in fair fights it was some of the worst shit I've ever seen. Like him being able to take out all of Legacy by himself with his crappy punches. That hell in a cell match at Wrestlemania 32 is my least favorite match of all time. The booking of the match made it seem like they were equal. Shane wasn't running scared and using cheap shots. He was legit having strike exchanges with the Undertaker, kicking out of chokeslams, last rides and only lost because he missed a crazy jump from the top of the cell. And the match went THIRTY minutes. In kayfabe he basically put up a better fight against Taker at Mania than Cena/Bray/HHH/HBK/Punk/Edge/Batista/etc. I actually remember being surprised by how well booked the Shane/X PAC WM match was. The just right combo of Shabd proving surprisingly good, using every dirty trick in the book, and X PAC going in overconfident to make it a competitive match that ended up being more entertaining than it had any right to be.

Zack Gowan.
Sorry, but you need two legs to be a credible wrestler.
One foot however, is acceptable.

Until there's a couch potato division, I don't buy either one of these guys. To me they are about half a step up from when Carl Winslow and Steve Erkel fought the Bushwhackers on Family Matters.

I loved Mongo.... I know he wasn't a good worker, but I felt like his look and attitude completely fit the world of pro wrestling. I'll echo Shane, although I think he really tried when he was involved.

I'm not someone who really cares about realism in wrestling, but I've always had a hard time buying 2016 - present Shane McMahon kicking anyone's ass when he looks gassed 2 minutes into all of his matches.

He's only ever been believable as the boss' fat son abusing his power by writing himself to be the toughest guy in the world.

Maybe an unpopular opinion: J.J. Allin/Escobar. That deathmatch wrestler that got his crotch set on fire back in 2022. Stupid stunt.
Don't get me wrong, I like deathmatch wrestling but he is one of the few from that style I consider him backyard at best.

In terms of looks, The Miz, just looks like the least intimidating guy in WWE. Id rather fight the Miz than Spike Dudley

I'll echo Shane, although I think he really tried when he was involved. Shane was good as the chickenshit heel who'd go all out in an effort to end the match quick, and otherwise run away and have others do his dirty work, or as a gutsy underdog, but when he became convinced he should wrestle as a normal-ass wrestler tough guy, it ruined the gimmick entirely. At least for Steph's ego trips, her beating Brie Bella's ass was actually plausible.

Shane's the answer here, but I will say his Coast-To-Coast was always impressive.

Great Khali in his later years was just so immobile and clearly in so much pain that I couldn't buy him as a threat. Yeah, he's a giant, but he's so washed that all it makes him is a bigger target. His knees may have well have been flashing colors like the weak point on a StarFox boss.

Damian Priest just comes off as he’s playing a wrestler. Like if needed an actor to play a wrestler on a tv show you could cast him or maybe he was a made AI if you listed what a wrestler should be.
A third of AEW and bunch of guys in WWE look velocity jobbers. Soo in a way they look like wresters just not so much guys you book your company around.

I can't imagine how bad it must have been by the end.

Like at least Taker didn't look that bad, slow, or embarrass himself.. But speaking of Shane, how did he go from a kayfabe maybe 60/100 ability who even with his dad partnering with him couldn't handle one Stone Cold.. to suddenly being a big badass hanging with nearly anyone. Even Vince at Survivor Series 03 got his ass kicked by a prime deadman Edit Just remembered Shane's nonplussed reaction on raw when his dad told him he was fighting Undertaker. I disliked him as a performer ever since then.

It's never bothered me since it's not really relevant to his role the vast majority of the time. Vain heel, or when he's a face, something of an underdog, both kind of benefit from him not being this intimidating figure.
