If anyone should have ended the streak it should have been Athena/Ember Moon...the only woman in NXT to come so close to beating her that it resorted in Asuka having to cheat.
The story was right there and Ember would have been a made woman on the main roster...but hey nothing like getting bullied over playing nintendo switch I guess makes up for that.

It’d be nice for her to have a Wrestlemania moment before she’s through. She’s had a great run overall so it’s more of a cherry on top thing than a must have That's where I'm at with it. She's had a great run, won every title available to her (except NXT Tag?), MITB, Rumble. I'm sure she's incredibly satisfied with her run, I've been happy with it 95% of the time, but getting that big Mania moment would be nice to see.

It's stuff like this that's why she's always my answer for the threads about people who deserve better

Also Vince never watched NXT so even if Ember was booked to be a big star she'd have never been the one to end the streak. Hence why Ruby, who was a loner in NXT and hated it when Nikki was trying to help against the Iiconics, was put in a stable with Liv and Sarah even though I don't think they ever interacted on NXT TV. (Though TBF, I did like Riott Squad but still it's an example lol)

As for Liv and Ruby...I don't remember them having a match or anything either tbf. I'll have to look it up on the Network now lol.

Wrestlemania 34 - Charlotte Flair Wrestlemania 35 - Women's Battle Royal Wrestlemania 36 - Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross Wrestlemania 39 - Bianca Belair
Asuka should’ve won these

Asuka's time as a potential main eventer/singles champion are probably over. WWE has so many other women that they clearly would rather push. So at this point, I'd rather her not get the Wrestlemania win. Never wining is more interesting that finally getting a win in some tag match no one will care about. If they do want to give her a "thank you" win at Wrestlemania, then I (being realistic) think it should be against Charlotte. The history is there. Becky would work too. (Being unrealistic, let her and IYO or Kairi go at it would be awesome) She should have won at 34 She got royally screwed over at 35. Dropping the belt 2 weeks for basically no reason. If that was the plan they should have made it a 4-way (Asuka and Ronda had a story there that was never told) Losing at 36 was fine.
37 she missed
In hindsight she should have won at 38, because the story they eventually tell for Rhea doesn't work with Rhea winning the belt the prior year, and they had to memory hole it in the build. But at the time, losing was fine. She should have won at 39. Bianca's record breaking reign was stupid since Becky had the record like a year prior. This was a waste of Asuka's repackage, which was popular. Bianca eventually drops it to Asuka anyway. Losing at 40 was fine. Damage CTRL are already shown as a bunch of whimps. Their popularity dead. Winning a meaningless tag match would not do much.

Reverse streak LFG!
I love Asuka and she’s still great but I would imagine that she’s going to be in that put over/help the new talent get over role from here on out. She’ll be great at it it just doesn’t get recognized like the fake stats that WWE pushes at us.
That match was always going to be a 100% showcase for Jade as it should have been really. 🤷🏻♂️

As I said, the losing streak at Mania really seems like something fans care about more than the Wrestlers.

It is deeply disappointing that she's never had any WrestleMania win, let alone a big one.
Total Hall of Fame career, in WWE alone before you even add on her work in Japan and Shimmer, which says a lot.
But yeah, wish she had a big win on the biggest stage. In retrospect, 34 or 36 would've been most likely.

A lot of Asuka's fans just want to see her get rewarded for her level of talent and star power on WWE's biggest show of the year when the time is right. Of course, the ship may have sailed by now like some have said, since we don't know how much longer she'll be wrestling or in a big title feud anymore. On the subject of losing streaks, New Day should have beaten League of Nations so that Woods and Big E would have wins like Kofi, too. Plus, Barrett was kicked out of the League after that Mania and released anyway.

my issue with her WM record isn't with 5 of those, it is losing to Charlotte in the first place. that shit was so deflating and I've never understood or liked it.

It should have been Ember Moon ending Asuka's streak on NXT, even if Moon's character was confusing. She needed the honor of doing that more than Charlotte.

And Sheamus has never been IC champion.
Both of these things should have changed at last years wrestlemania.
