Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch news

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins will be taking time off the road following his back-to-back performances at WrestleMania 40. The exact duration of Rollins' hiatus is not yet known, although the hope, as of Monday, was that it would only last about four weeks (h/t Wrestling Observer Daily Update). Rollins last competed on night two of WrestleMania 40 as he unsuccessfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship against "The Scottish Warrior" Drew McIntyre. Rollins later appeared in the night's closing contest, making good on his promise of being Cody Rhodes' "shield" in his pursuit of capturing the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Rollins' real-life counterpart Becky Lynch is also believed to be taking some off of WWE television. Lynch last wrestled in the opening contest of WrestleMania 40 night one. Much like Rollins, though, Lynch's efforts proved to be unsuccessful as she suffered a loss to WWE Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley. There is no word on how long Lynch may be away from television. 

While there appears to be some answers regarding their imminent future in WWE, the long-term future of Rollins and Lynch still remains uncertain, as both their contracts are set to expire in June 2024.

i don't buy for a second that Seth/Becky/Drew are leaving but Seth being that emotional does make me wonder. that whole interaction after the WHC match... it does get the mental hamster wheel rolling.

I figure one of the Becky/Seth couple is leaving and the other getting a vastly lighter schedule since their child is hitting preschool age.

Becky has all but outright said she is gonna be a part timer.

Seth on the other hand idk I have always thought that TK if he could lure either one to AEW it would be Seth.

I think more top stars should take extended breaks. Main Event scene is a bit clogged anyways.


I am not even in the "Jericho Hater" camp, but the guy has been on AEW TV constantly for 5 years and I think a lot of the backlash has to do with people are tired of him. You need to go away for stretches in pro wrestling.

Nah I'd say he needs a legit stable that isn't left in the past. Thought we had one with Theory and Matthews but it didn't work. Maybe bring Frazier up and we can have him and someone else be under Seth leading to a student/teacher feud.

That's one thing this current generation hasn't had much and I wish they did.

he'd be great in AEW and I'd like to see what that would look like but I think he's far too important for WWE to let him go.

My guess is that Seth sticks around, Becky goes to AEW. Seth still feels like he's very heavily involved in things and very present while Becky even with the killer run she's been on has been feeling kind of out of place and like she has a foot out the door for a long time now.

I wouldn't bet on either leaving but they absolutely need to think about it - at the very least to get the best offer out of TKO.

I know the man has wanted to work with Ospreay for the longest time so this might he his only chance. One more WWE contract and I think Rollins calls it a career.

Good for them. Good time to heal up, freshen up, and it will be nice for them and their kid to get to be a normal family for a little while.

Yeah, they made up a world title for him and tried to pretend it wasn't a consolation prize. They'll move heaven and earth to keep him likely.

Isn't Roman's neutral state at this point taking time off? If he doesn't show up until Summerslam or later will anyone be surprised?

I think every wrestler should explore their options now that there's a competitive market for labor. Even if they don't have intention of leaving deep down, pit the billionaires against each other in a bidding war. Make that money while you can.

Both have also earned time off. Especially Seth.

This could be the first HHH/TKO clash. HHH would give his right you know what to keep Rollins, he loves the guy. Seth is going to ask for a big raise - basically the same money as Reigns, Cena, Cody, and maybe even whatever Rock gets paid per appearance. Because business is booming and Seth worked his arse off all year. If the TKO bean counters don't think he's worth his demands it could frustrate HHH as TK will be waiting to make an offer. I do wonder as money appeared to be the reason LA Knight (this is potentially his last big chance for a high-profile run so he has to grab the bag) and Drew (same situation as Seth, carried the show for long periods) weren't signed as of a few months ago. They made high demands that corporate sniffed at.

Becky is in a similar situation as Charlotte got a big raise recently but this might be mitigated by her going PT.
