During matches, the show often cuts to a commercial break. The wrestlers keep wrestling, even though no one at home can see them. This is a waste of time.
While they are showing commercials, the wrestlers should stop wrestling. Take a breather, drink some water, and right before they go back on the air, they get back in the positions they were in before the break. This will keep wrestlers from wasting their energy while millions at home aren't watching.

I choose to believe this is what they did in 2019. Was that those horrible three weeks when every single match turned into a 2/3 falls match because Vince is insane? If so, how the hell was that 5 years ago? Where does time go we’re all old!! |

I'd be okay with bringing it back, but just call it what it is.
Make it a rule that during commercial breaks, the action must stop. Like a boxing round or something.

They should make the term 'rest hold' very literal. Slap on a reverse chinlock and ease it out for 3 minutes.

I don’t think the Live fans would be thrilled the action just stops for 3 minutes. Don’t really like the idea at all.
I would suggest Raw becomes 3 hours of squash matches. No match goes over 5 minutes. More time for 20 minute promos!

I always imagined that they stopped and tried to work out their differences but end up back fighter right before the return from commercial.

Missing out on some revenue streams here. The wrestlers should take a break and hydrate, but they should also watch the commercials and the face should say how much they like the product while the heel badmouths the product, and there could be an app that shows the face (and the fans) all buying the products and then we see the heel also getting caught buying the products, much to the fan's delight.
But yes, then they get back in place and continue the match.
