Man the vibes I get from him these days are exactly the vibes I got off Kane and Big Show in the early 2010s. And I'm saying this as a guy whose second favorite wrestler of all time is Chris Jericho (Bret is #1). Dude needs to either take a break and reinvent himself again in some way or just retire already. It honestly feels like Orange Cassidy was the last guy who actually benefited from working with him and that was like 3 years ago now.

Nah, he isn’t being intentionally booked to ruin the fans’ fun like Kane and Big Show were. 2024 Jericho is… something, but it’s not that.

Jericho is a real master of reinvention. I don’t think there are many wrestlers that have been as successful with as many reinventions as Jericho.
Which makes it really strange that he’s never really tried to reinvent himself in AEW. He just tweaks things a little and calls it done.
I’d like to see him go away for a few months and come back as something completely fresh. If he can’t do that and the reinvention well has run dry, maybe it’s time to hang up the boots and move into commentary full time.

he'd need another guy with him to form the local men

No, if only because he's at the proper card position for his downward slope. The local men were taking up upper midcard challenger spots that deprived other wrestlers on top of being boring.

The problem is Jericho needs time off to come back (hopefully) fresh and different. He's been a constant in AEW, much to his own detriment. And instead of doing this, they choose to swerve into the skid and give him a belt while having him beat a younger guy who needs momentum. They have to actually address the problem instead of plowing through and pretending Jericho has useable heat.

I don't know, but it's a sad state of affairs at the moment. He's in the conversation for the GOAT, but right now he's actively making me want to switch off whenever he's on. I kinda get why he's outstaying his welcome this time because it's probably realistically his final full time run and he's (understandably) not ready to let go yet. But yeah, it's a tough watch.
The only thing I can suggest is doing a Sting/Danielson, putting a time frame on it and go all out to have the best run he can have in that time frame, but even then, what is there left for him to do?

I'm still hoping that since they're now 50/50 in wins against each other there'll be some blow off match soon and Hook will beat him by redrum and then we'll move on because god

In terms of card placement? Not really.
In terms of sucking all life out of the feel of a show when he's around? Yes.
