From the “Not yet, by like a lot” files, over 30 years ago WCW tried to run NYC proper with a house show at the Paramount Theater. Check out the card: www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=54390

I love the fact that the only match with the duration is Van Hammer vs Vinnie Vegas. And I can imagine the excruciating pain of watching 9 minutes of those two going at it, and I don't mind either wrestler!

Wasn't there a WCW house show in NYC where Konnan bad mouthed ECW and Jimmy Hart had to come out and apologize?

I bet Steamboat vs. Windham was a banger.
Rick Rude vs. Cactus Jack I can't imagine having any chemistry whatsoever. Not sure I ever saw them wrestle each other.

This was the one where Cactus did a send-up of Rude's entrance, telling fans to keep the noise down while he showed them what a fat, out of shape, New York sweathog looked like. \ EDIT: Not NY but Dublin, but another Rude/Foley match: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEO2540KoPU

I think it was Kevin Sullivan, who Hart was managing, who got on the mic and defended ECW after Konnan, the babyface, got mad at some ECW fans in the front row.

But they didn’t have a tank so it’s no big deal.

They should have done this card as a Clash special.
I imagine the Paramount don't look as good on TV though.
Looking at the card, they definitely did the most they could for that time.
