Anyone else watch this Netflix true crime documentary.
It’s such an unfortunate case of family murder and attempted murder (but I guess which ones aren’t, right?). The primary person orchestrating the murder, Jennifer Pan seemed so far gone by the time she orchestrated them yet in other ways functioned without issue.

Yeah it's a good doc. Apparently there's a bit of a scandal about it though, because they doctored a bunch of pics of her using AI for seemingly no reason at all.

Yeah it's a good doc. Apparently there's a bit of a scandal about it though, because they doctored a bunch of pics of her using AI for seemingly no reason at all. I haven’t looked up much beyond a Reddit and Google search, but I think it’s those pics of her partying/being bubbly or however you want to put it. Maybe some other stuff too, but I think those are the primary culprits. When I first saw Facebook ads one of those was the one they used to advertise it anyway. The funny thing is they REALLY look like bad AI. It was probably Netflix Execs seeing that the dominant image of the film was a disheveled woman crying in a cramped police station in her laundry day clothes and saying, “Yeah, I don’t think this is going to be our next Tiger King. Not unless we spice it up.” It’s disappointing too because it takes away from a theme of the film. She was hardly going crazy partying in those AI photos, but they are the only images of her that look like she has any sense of real joy. The closest thing aside from those are the photos of her receiving awards or something, which look like a very forced, professional happiness. If you are unable to find any photos of someone looking happy it adds to the narrative and makes it more complex.

All I’ve heard about it is they used AI to f*** with a lot of images of the people involved.
That’s low as f***, and given how shitty a lot of Netflix’s original programming is, doesn’t really make me want to check it out.
