The people who have been absolutely fed up with Jericho and want him to go away forever aren't gonna wanna hear me say this... but that was a fantastic match lmfao
This new persona and him being in crazy silly hardcore matches is working, and the more he leans into being delusional as f***, imo, the more this reinvention is gonna land.

Yeah I think matches where Jericho can be be more goofy and take some shortcuts could work well for him. He does finally feel like an all new character too as opposed to just changing his nickname.
I don't know how easy it'll be to replicate that level of entertainment week to week but I loved the match last night, the spot in the OP and Jericho just throwing a puck into Shibata's face were both absolutely hilarious.

You know Shibata was trying not to crack up laughing while he played Trash Can Terminator.
Jericho’s new gear is just hilariously bad. The back looks like he’s some eldritch abomination with tentacle legs trying to give you a creepy hug.

That was one of my favourite matches of the year. At least from a pure entertainment perspective at least.

Shibata being on Sesame Street and using his phone to sing "I love Trash" is all I need. Put it in the new contract, Tony!

As sick as I've been of Jericho lately, that was a great match. I was very sports entertained.

Quite suprised how much Shibata is working right now. He's pretty much a full time normal guy at moment

Who greenlit Jericho being back in trunks again and why should they be allowed employment?

With Sheamus bieng canon to the Muppets, AEW would join WWE in the Jim Henson universe.

That was one of my favourite matches of the year. At least from a pure entertainment perspective at least. I enjoyed the match seeing it in person, and I loved it even more when I came home and re-watched it. That was ridiculously fun

Shibata is so frigging awesome
I had never heard of the dude when he first showed up on AEW as I only have a glancing knowledge of the Japanese scene but this dude just has that it factor for me
He took a hockey puck to the face!

Jericho has been back on form for a while now. The Alantis Jr match halted his run of stinkers and since then most of his bouts have been decent. I wonder if his poor run was down to poor AEW morale due to 'events' and even personal problems and now those problems have been solved he's motivated and back in the game.
He is still going to need a compelling storyline to win back the crowd though.
