With the super secret surprise debut of Tanga Loa.
Unless I missed it, NONE of the dirtsheet guys reported this first.
Where there any other WWE signings in history that none of the dirtsheets reported and it actually happened without them knowing?
I am genuinely happy with this signing just because I had ZERO idea myself.

I think there had been some rumblings of Loa coming in, though nothing to suggest it was like a now thing.

I'm just disappointed that they didn't call him Donny Marlow. Polynesian Power Pack > Bloodline 2.0.

They've gotten better at keeping things under wraps recently.
Charlotte's the ultimate example. She re-signed and it wasn't reported till a few months later.

Some 23 years ago (ugh, I’m old), everyone knew the WWF signed Rhyno, Tajiri, Justin Credible and Jerry Lynn. Then, out of nowhere, Spike Dudley appears.

Punk like last november lol I think they reported that the two sides had made contact but were far apart on terms and no one thought anything would come of it. By Punk and HHH's own words they were surprised at how quickly things came together in the week before Survivor Series. Of course its possible that a deal was made the second after he got his termination papers from AEW and they are working us out of sheer habit.

When HHH took over and he brought back a bunch of people the news usually broke the day the person returned (“This person is in talks to return” then they’d be on the show that night), but I’m sure there was at least one surprise? Was it Karrion Kross & Scarlett? I know news came out about Ashante and Top Dolla returning but B-Fab wasn’t mentioned, now she’s gotten the most air time out of them all.

I think there had been some rumblings of Loa coming in, though nothing to suggest it was like a now thing. I had definitely seen and/or heard speculation that there was a good chance he would follow Tama but no difinitive “he’s definitely on his way” like there had been for Tama and Jacob Fatu

Had no idea. Was happy for him. And hey, every faction needs a McDonagh.

I'm glad as a kid I mostly wasn't aware of dirtsheet stuff. I remember watching Wrestlemania 19 and almost falling out of my chair with excitement when the Goldberg video played. It wouldn't have had quite the same effect if I had already heard the news that he'd signed. Then in the next few days Kevin Nash returning on Raw and Sable returning on Smackdown were complete surprises to me too.

There was absolutely nothing about Dakota Kai returning to WWE. The live thread for summer slam that year went nuts.

No one reported Shawn Spears coming in to NXT as far as I could see or remember
Matt Cardona coming in to face Copeland is another one that just happened that I don't remember anyone really leaking

Hunico coming next to a Bloodline near you 🙏 Not enough Hipster points in calling him Camacho. Plus Donny Marlow briefly teamed with Jimmy and Jey (or Jules as he was then) Uso.

It was almost a given that she wasn't renewing her contract and was likely headed back to Japan, but then her and Dakota show up with Bayley.
