The announced KOTR qualifying matches for Raw are pretty exciting. Particularly looking forward to Dragunov vs Ricochet and Lyra vs Asuka.

I'm sure they will have it all worked out, but if it's L16 for both men and women on both RAW and Smackdown then they are gonna really struggle to fit it all in, especially on the Smackdown side. For RAW on Monday: Ivy vs Zoey Shayna vs Zelina Lyra vs Asuka IYO vs Nattie Drew vs Finna Kofi vs Rey Ricochet vs Ilya Gunther vs Sheamus Then presumably 4 men and 4 women's matches on Smackdown this Friday, which will be really tight, and probably end up having the semi finals on the respective go home shows, which won't be great not knowing who will be in the finals one day before the PLE event. Wiki by no means gospel, but they have brackets and timings as follows: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_and_Queen_of_the_Ring_(2024)#MatchesLyra surely won't lose her debut match, so suspect we will see her vs IYO, and the winner of that should come through to the final as nobody really stands out in the top half. Tiffany did make a PLE within 3 weeks of her call up, so not beyond Lyra, although Tiff was just one of 6, and eliminated early, and not in a big one on one match, so I'd expect IYO to make the final on the RAW side. Hard to see beyond Drew or Gunther making it to Jeddah, although they might not necessarily face each other in the semi final, if they wanted to save that match. I'd probably expect Gunther to beat Drew, maybe with some more Punk shenanigans. It'll be interesting to see the 8 men and women on the Smackdown side, Melo, LA Knight and Santos have declared themselves so far, so those, probably Lashley, maybe Andrade, Logan? They could probably roll our Berto and/or Angel if they wanted someone to take a guaranteed loss. Jade and Bianca will probably be having a title defense in Saudi, maybe against Candice/Indi, so I'll go for Tiffany, Naomi, Chelsea, Piper, Blair, Tegan, Michin and Nia, unless the latter is involved with Bayley.

Screw it, give Sonya Deville the Queen of the Ring. She's coming back from injury probably and I would like her to be pushed as a great babyface!

Wanna hear something insane.
This is Ricochetβs third KOTR tournament,
Miz has somehow only been in one.
Hornswoggle has also been in one.
Doesnβt sound right.

How are they going to fit 8 first round matches on Smackdown this week? Jimmmy Uso, Apollo Crews, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows and Cedric Alexander can all lose quickly as those guys are absolute goobers, and one or both of the current tag champs can also eat a quick loss. Michin or Chelsea can get squashed by Nia. That should ensure that WWE can get 8 matches on the program.

I will say that bracket posted on Wikipedia isn't official. As for who goes to the finals on both sides, I feel like its down to Iyo or Lyra on the RAW side, and almost certainly Tiffany on the Smackdown side if she's not chasing Bayley, and is in the tournament. And if its Tiffany, I feel like Lyra has a stronger chance of being in the finals, to avoid a heel vs heel matchup, although Saudi fans tend to like Iyo so I dunno. I honestly have either Chelsea Green or Tiffany Stratton winning MITB this year, and if Tiffany is in that, then she doesn't need QOTR as well. Iyo absolutely will not be winning MITB again this year, but she does need some sort of major accolade as well, so I would honestly give her the nod this year for QOTR. She's been heavily deemphasized on TV ever since Wrestlemania and that's deeply concerning. She's not injured either, as she worked the house shows before the European tour this year. She absolutely deserves some sort of major win at this point.

She absolutely deserves some sort of major win at this point. Tiffany will be an interesting one. I do think she probably will win one of these upcoming gimmick PLE matches, but obviously not both. I'd prefer to win MITB, but if she's slated for that (MITB) then it will be interesting to see what they do with her for the next 9 weeks as there's 9 SDs before the ladder match. They could do Bayley again, but Bayley isn't dropping the title for a while, so I'm hoping Nia is the next challenger. I could see Tiffany being in the QOTR tournament to get another win or two, but not make the final, maybe losing to Naomi again or something, or possibly Chelsea via distraction by Jade/Bianca to maybe make way for a brief and unsuccessful tag title challenge with Nia at say Clash, before turning her full attention to MITB. We should know more when we see the Smackdown brackets, and the likely paths. And yeah, it would be a bit weird if those were the brackets, as unless Zoey is going to get a bit more of a push in the coming months, there'd be nobody in that top half that stands out as someone who could make the final (in Saudi, whereas you would have Iyo, Asuka, and Lyra in the other half who would be a lot more believable.

Them trying to push Zoey again would be a choice, albeit probably a bad one, because she's never really gotten over even in NXT. The empty water bottle on my desk has more personality than her. She's just not a good promo, and while she's good in the ring, that's literally it. WWE has tried a whole bunch of stuff to try and get her over, including having her lay out Trish Stratus, just for it to amount to nothing.

I would keep trying with Stark (even if just in a tag team) because she is just that good in the ring.
