Greatest Hour nailed it.. if you're gonna go to greener pastures, no biggie, you're SUPPOSED to work for the best benefits to yourself and your family possible. But if you're gonna do that, don't do the whole " I'm not a candidate" thing. hell two weeks ago he categorically denied he was even up for the job. Yeesh.
"Um Nick, where are you? We've got a meeting, and we were gonna discuss your decision"
"I'm headin to Sweet Home Alabama, I just thought I would call from the road and let you guys know, I just stopped off for a Egg Mcmuffin and am about the hit the interstate again.. ROLL TIDE! I'm Rich b****! Honk Honk!"

Someone explain this whole "Larry Brown of football" thing to me......pretty please? coach of the Clippers, Pacers, Knicks, Pistons, Kansas Jayhawks and reportedly to UNC. basically a mercenary. Don't forget the other thing about Brown: he had a habit of never finishing what he started. He'd blow into town, promise the moon, start to rebuild the team, and as it was starting to fulfill its promise, he'd bolt for greener (read:$$$) pastures. The only time he followed something to the end was here in Detroit ... but then again, he inherited a championship-caliber team from Rick Carlisle, so in a way, he STILL didn't live up to his word. He's the sporting equivalent of the prostitute that snags your wallet and jumps out the window before getting down to business. As for Saban ... classy move. A real awesome individual. Jerk. Jed Shaffer ~If only the sporting world was populated by Bill Cowhers.

There is no way I'd turn down a guaranteed $32,000,000 to go back to doing what I love. He was rumored to have regretted leaving LSU and was going back to college coaching after the NFL unless something major happened.
