I love how 2 weeks ago Saban got on a podium and said "I will NOT be the Alabama head coach". Then two weeks later he bolts when they show him the money. I'm watching ESPN, and this is getting funny. Apparently he didn't show up for a meeting at Dolphins headquarters this morning, and decided to call in and give his decision to the Dolphin's organization over a speaker phone. Nice.

Great job, Nick. Now comes the welcome.
Alabama Booster: Hi, what's your name? Nick: Nick Saban, sir. AB: Wait...your name isn't Bear Bryant? Nick: umm...no. AB: You don't even look like Bear Bryant! Nick: umm..no. AB (to AD): FIRE HIS ASS!!

Aha...gotcha. Guy goes where they pay him to go.
And really, to me, there's nothing wrong with that. I mean, in an ideal world, you'd have coaches LOYAL to a program, who'd stay at one school till they dropped dead on the sidelines.
But in this world, as Gordon Gekko would say, "Greed is GOOD." Grab all the money you can, and run like hell.
And I wonder how many guys have called in to Sports radio and dedicated the song "Take the Money and Run" to Nick Saban?

The thing is I don't have a problem with him leaving. It happens many times every year in sports. I just think it was really low to say two weeks ago that "no, I am NOT leaving" then leave and no show a scheduled meeting only to call in on a speakerphone to give your decision.

If there is any justice in the world, he will be fired in two years from the pressures of coaching at Alabama. Don't deny it and then take the college job. If my son was looking at colleges, I damn sure wouldn't want him to go to Alabama.

He said two weeks ago that he was no interested in coaching at Alabama and after they cracked open that safe all of a sudden he will bend over for them. Al Groh did this to the Jets a few years ago before going to college football. I just think you are an asshole for leaving before the job is complete, you stay till the miserable f***ing end, and you keep f***ing no matter how bad it gets.

I just think you are an rear canal for leaving before the job is complete, you stay till the miserable huging end, and you keep huging no matter how bad it gets. Oh don't get me wrong here.....I'm with you all the way on the two facedness of it all. Remember, I'm from the state that Dennis Ericksson burned just like this (only in reverse) to go to the open-wallet 49ers a couple of years ago. I hated Ericksson bailing on the Beavs, and I hate Saban doing this. Cutting and running is NEVER cool, especially if you're the organization on the losing end. All I was stressing was the cold, hard facts: That $4 million dollars is a hellva lot of money for any human being to turn down. This just proves that loyalty in sports is completely dead.
