I'm back and I figured I'd steal RD's Trip to the Grocery bit for this one post.
First I want to thank all the people who wished me a safe trip back in the Raw captions thread I did right before I left. I'm gonna try to make this short and sweet.
Got stuck in traffic in the downtown Richmond area. Took us over an hour to go 5 miles. The signs kept saying "Accident on Exit 78. Left and Center lane closed. Right lane open." So we stayed in the right lane. We get to Exit 78.......and nothing. Not only was there no accident but all 3 lanes were open. Somehow as soon as we passed that exit, everything opened wide up.
The motel we stopped at didn't have Sci Fi so I had to miss ECW.
On our way to Seaside Heights we ran into a light snow storm. It was my first time seeing snow in 15 years. We get to Seaside Heights and EVERYTHING was closed. I knew it was going to be bad since it's January and all but not THIS bad. I assumed most of the arcades would be open but only one was, luckily it was the one we were going to in the first place.
I won a Yankees jersey from one of the claw machines. I attempted to win an iPod nano from one as well but it was getting to be a bit expensive ($2 a try, 3 plays for $5). The place closed at 7 but we were done by 5 so we went back to the motel which would up being for the night because the entire town closed down by 6. Talk about a LONG night.
Yesterday we get up and convinced my dad to head down to Atlantic City since both myself and my mom had never been. We probably should've headed over towards the boardwalk but for whatever reason, my dad headed towards the Taj Mahal over on the slummy side of town. I was just excited to be in a big hotel/casino since I had never been in one.
After walking around for a while I finally got the nerve to gamble but decided to stick with the slots. The first 20 bucks didn't go so well, switched over to video poker and didn't do well again. For those who don't know (we sure didn't) they use a voucher system instead of just spitting out cash if you win. I guess it probably lowers the number of thefts or something but who knows. Anyways, I had 10 bucks on a voucher and saw the Blues Brothers slot machines so I sat down. it was a penny slot with up to 20 lines per game so i decided to play 20 cents per game. If you get 3 bonus markers on a spin, you get 15 free games which runs automatically for you. I'm not sure what I did but my credits went through the roof. I wound up hitting some sort of jackpot and cashed out with $81.22 on my voucher. FROM A PENNY SLOT MACHINE!
I only wound up losing another $9 so I came out ahead. My dad on the other hand lost about $300 playing video poker.
The motel last night didn't have Spike so I wound up missing Impact (0 for 2 on my trip.) We got home around 3:30 this afternoon.
I'm so glad to be home. it was FREEZING up north. i hadn't been in < 25 degree weather in ages.
