So I'm wondering what everyone thinks about this. What videogame franchise that constantly has bad games is the most successful commercially?
I forsee GTA and Madden being mentioned alot here.

I remember that at one point there seemed to be a 'Army Men' (as in those small green plastic soldiers) game being released on a monthly basis for the Playstation and PS2.
And I remember them getting some of the worst reviews ever in the videogame magazines.

Dynasty Warriors. I used to love the series, but it needs some serious reworking, or no more sequels.
Though I am looking forward to Gundam Warriors.

FIFA soccer wins hands down...
If you take away the official licenses and the graphics (that aren't that great either IMO... too pastel colours for my taste), the gameplay has been abysmal since the very beginning.
The early versions were all about running with the ball... coast to coast without needing to pass, if not for your own pleasure. Then they decided to implement a passing system, so the game goes like: call for a forward, off the ball run, through ball to the attacker, one-on-one, goal.
They tried to copy Pro Evolution Soccer's gameplay and controls but failed miserably...
A waste of money and hard drive space on all accounts.

I can't believe I forgot all about FIFA. I remember renting FIFA 2000 on the PSX and it was ridiculously easy to destroy the computer, even on the hardest difficulty. All I had to do was tap the turbo button repeatedly and I could literally run from one side of the pitch to the other, while barely even having to weave around people, and I could score. I frequently won with like, a 20 point lead. In soccer. That's absolutely awful.

Yeah, and with PES picking up more and more licenses every year, it'll come to a point where all that's left is the FIFA one itself. Then FIFA will have nothing. NOTHING!

I'll go with a shocker and say Metal Gear. How many times can you make the same game with slightly different backgrounds?

I'll go with a shocker and say Metal Gear. How many times can you make the same game with slightly different backgrounds? Did you actually play part 3? I don't see how you cant appreciate it if you did... Anyhow: Tomb Raider - Sorry but its true, if it was a dude as the main character no one would've given a s*** and it would've just been another ugly 3-D action game on the PSX with massive clipping issues like Nightmare Creatures and Deathtrap Dungeon that no one would remember. Resident Evil - Hate all you like, I know I'm in the minority on this, but I don't like to control human characters as if they were a bathtub on wheels, and I don't wanna shoot one zombie 23 times when every movie I've ever seen teaches me they go down in one. Smackdown vs RAW - I firmly believe this is because there is no alternative, but ,we all keep buying it and keep b****ing about it.

I love GTA, so therefore I disagree that they have put out bad games, even the old top/down games were fun.
Of course some people might not like that style of game, which would mean the game would be bad to them, which is okay.
I personally can't get into Final Fantasy, any of the boxing games or Zelda.
To each their own though.

Silent Hill - The first 2 were wonderful. 3 and 4 were horrendous.
