Bush represented the band moving away from their thrash metal sound that made them in the 80s to me. Once he joined the band, they kind of seemed washed up and no longer... how do I put it... relevant to the metal scene anymore.
I'm actually surprised that he's getting a lot of support on this board, because most Anthrax fans I know despise his work.
It just seemed like Belladonna was with the band in their prime, and was one of the guys that made Anthrax mean something. Bush always seemed to have come along when the band was just past its prime.
Also, a lot of stuff with Bush seemed a little too "nu metal"-esque, from the band that's considered one of the big four of thrash (along with old Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer... ahh sweet Slayer)

Granted, as I said, I liked both lead singers, but at times Belladonna just felt...weird, I guess. And I never got a "nu metal" vibe from the Bush era. Grunge metal, maybe, but certainly far more metal than grunge.

Sound of White Noise and Stomp 442 are plenty metal enough for me. Course, Among the Living is still their best album.

See, I was introduced to Anthrax with Deathrider...and Bush can't quite pull off that song as well as Belladonna.
I'm interested in Taylor though...I've always seen Slipknot as a modern day Anthrax in terms of how the music sounds...so I think it would be a good fit.

Then I would say that he gets my vote, I like the old stuff with Joey but I remember that track more than anything else.
I have my mini-disc copy of that album somewhere.
