And I really can't believe how they turned something that really worked into a Soap Opera with Pirates.
I didn't see Pirates 2, but it didn't even seem I needed to. There was so many things that just were pointless. Not wanting to spoil anything, but particually the on/off friendship between Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom's characters. Seriously, you didn't even know if they REALLY liked each other until the end.
The thing about Pirates that I thought was so great, was just how simple it was. Yeah, it was more in depth than the ride, but come on, it was actually very linier and also a really fun Summer Popcorn film. This one isn't crap by any means, but all these plots and twists really take away from what it really should be and that is a film about Pirates.
I didn't want to say much, but I also wanted to just simply ask...what the hell happened to Pirates of the Caribbean?

Bill Nighy as Davy Jones made the film for me, and Norrington. I was glad we finally got to see him without all the crap on his face.

I've watched all three movies and I still have no idea what it was about. Pirates yeah, but like...who were the good guys? bad guys? what did they want? what were they doing? Thing is, I can work out harder movies but I just don't know what these movies are about.

Thing is, I can work out harder movies but I just don't know what these movies are about. That's by far my biggest issue with the third one. EVERYONE stabs each other in the back and double-crosses so much that you lose all sympathy and just think of them as ALL being bastards.

The first one was the best, but the sequels were fun if you don't anticipate anything life-changing.
I mean, there were pirates, explosions, sword fights, monkeys, monsters, etc....that's all I ask for in any film centered around pirates.

Yeah, I finally saw the movie last night and was hoping for something better. Still enjoyable, but not quite up to par.

Yeah, I haven't seen the second one yet, but the third one had a monkey with a gun and a massive clusterschmazz final battle in a whirlpool. I was happy.

I loved the first two and enjoyed the third. Would've liked it more if there were less pointless Russo-swerves/backstabbing-just-for-the-hell-of-it, and they could've easily cut 10 minutes off the first scene of Jack in "the locker". It just drug on and on and on. Was just an excuse for pudgy Hot Topic girls to get to see Johnny Depp lick something up close.
Also Keira Knightly showed nowhere near enough skin and that angers me.

Keira Knightly doesn't really have skin to show, she's a twig.
However, she actually looks decent in this movie.
I thought it was just way too long. Not enough of Capt Jack and his hijinks either.

Yeah she could stand to gain a good 20 pounds but I've always thought she looked great in the Pirates films.

Why is it that I understood everything (not clearly, but enough) when I saw all the movies?
Weird.

Give them all light saber stick them in outer space and you have another dreadful star wars movie.
