He's got a great future ahead of him. Nice to see him accomplish something big.

Probably the best news of the night in baseball, right after the Yankee win, and three jobbers hitting consecutive bombs off the Mets.

Betemit is decent, Kemp is going to be a mosnter, and Kuo just owes us in the regular season. 2. Talk about jobbing, Yanks are beating crappy teams, while the Mets are losing to good ones. 3. It's only 3-1 in the fifth. Not even close to being over. 4. Isn't this a Verlander thread

Speaking of 'lander, I remember in the ALDS when he struck out A-Rod on 101, 101, and then an 82-mph hook... Sick stuff. 3/2. The Mets got swept from an injury-riddled Phillie squad for reasons I'm not sure of, lost to a good Detroit team, and are losing to the Dodgers. Last I checked, the Metropolitans are supposed to be the class of the NL. While the Pirates and the W. Sox suck, the D-Backs are nothing to sneeze at, as they have one of the best starters in baseball in Webb who the Yanks just beat. Plus, most Senior Circuit teams are crap compared to AL teams, you should know that. 1. While true on all counts, Maine is the closest thing to an ace that the Metropolitans have aside from perhaps Duque. How does it look when your best guy gives up HR's to 7-8-9 hitters in a span of three pitches? And of Verlander, the only thing keeping him from a Cy is him tiring out in the second half.

There's no doubt the Mets are asleep but it's June and there's still 3 months+ left. Don't forget, if the Mets need to make a trade, Minaya will do it.

The Mets will never get a no-hitter and that makes me sad.

The Mets will never get a no-hitter and that makes me sad. I think Oliver Perez has the potential for no-hit stuff. Hopefully not Friday night though... Looking at the Tigers and the rest of their rotation makes me wonder why the Indians are still in 1st place.

As a Pirates fan, Oliver Perez is reason #2948222 that I want to shoot myself in the head just about everyday during baseball season.

The Mets, by the way, have followed the Yankees path in how they televise games on their own cable network.
The Mets are raking in the dough and shelling out the cash for players these days.
With the Yanks slowly declining, in the next few years the Mets will be the new Yankees.
Baseball's still at least 90% about who spending money. Everybody else just better hope they A. Do an awesome job with their minor league system and B. Hopefully keep that core together for one good season where they catch lightning in the jar and win it all (ie 2003 Marlins).

I now have 2 no hitters this year from my fantasy team. And I think I picked up Mark Buehrle in the 20th round or something. Now who's gonna give me #3? Will it be Oswalt, Willis, Braden Looper, Wang, or Bartolo Colon (yeah, right!)

And the Mets still do not have a no hitter to celebrate, just throwing that out there.
