I would normally agree, I used to wonder why anyone cared. However I was out for dinner at a nice restaurant the other day and was actually quite annoyed that there was guy wearing a baseball hat at the next table. Like many things that are considered good manners it may not make much sense on a practical level, but much like standing up when a lady comes to the table, pulling out her chair, or holding the door open, it will set you apart from the crowd. (and possibly get you laid) Are you Leopold from "Kate and Leopold"? Yes, I have seen that movie. I have not, but this Leopold cat sounds really really cool, so I will.

I've seen that movie too. Actually wasn't bad. Although, I should add, in my head, the movie was called "Kate and Wolverine." Still though, good movie.

With Wolverine's history and false memories, it may've been legitimately Kate and Wolverine.

I'm saddened there's no fat banner ad for "Kate and Leopold." Or, between me and Jackrabbit Grimm, a fat banner add for "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer."

(and possibly get you laid) I always open doors for girls, car doors especially, hasn't helped me out so much. However, I once saw an old school guy. He was old himself, but he got out, walked around and let his wife out. Who sat there, patiently waiting on him to doi it. That's old school. Also, have fun explaining to a chick the proper way for a man and woman to walk down the sidewalk is with the man walking closest to the curb, they just don't understand.

(and possibly get you laid) sadly what you didn't know is that man recently had brain surgery and was wearing that baseball cap to hide his giant scar. but as for why hats are considered inappropeit in america, I have no smurfing clue. when the pilgrims came over here they didn't take off there hats indoors or anything like that. I know this cause I saw a video in school that actually talked about this very thing. It's just one of those stupid society control things that I never liked.

'So you can suck 16 d***s, but I can't wear a hat in your hotel room?'
(Hopes nobody beat him to it.)

Also, have fun explaining to a chick the proper way for a man and woman to walk down the sidewalk is with the man walking closest to the curb, they just don't understand. Idea one is that you wouldn't want the lady to be in a position where she is more likely to get dirtied/struck by a vehicle; idea two has something to do with being gentlemanly about showing off your companion, yes? As for the hats, I've also heard that not removing your hat is a sign of an ungracious guest, as protocol used to have it that guests stayed for a spell and chat or have refreshments with the host rather than just pop in and out.

Also, you can be held in contempt of court if you are in a court room with a hat on. I hate that, a judge puts on a robe and suddenly he thinks he's holy or something Anyway, why is it this way with hats and not sunglasses? They don't seem to get as bad a rap if you wear them indoors,I know it can be taken as a sign of arogance, but it's not as looked down upon as hats

I ran into a hat once that was totally disrespectful. I was just mindin' my business and this hat was all like "Yo, old man, get outta the way" and I was all like "What?" and it was totally like "You heard me, dumbass, this is my territory now."
And then it punched me in the nose.
Damned hats.

I like hats and wear them all the time. Never in a restraunt or some such place and never during the national anthem. (has anyone ever seen this? It's infuriating) That's just how it works, I thought. Who's raising these kids that don't know this stuff?

True, it's less to do me than with I'm typically not dressed well enough to rock the fedora, though when I'm put together it works well. this might need further study Definitely. I claim this thread now useless without pictures.
