SHDD apparently doesn't like anything. j/k, just a friendly joke. I have to agree with you here, as I dislike carbonated drinks that are warm, other than Perrier. Does that count as a soda?

I'd prefer all soda never be served PERIOD. Relatives of mine who drank soda lots have diseases and disorders. I see tons of threads on here about soda and I bet 75% of those drinking it are unhealthy. Mountain Dew is the international official drink of unhealthy people DR Pepper being a close second. You are poisoning your bodies.
Here's an idea...HAVE A BEER!!! Like a Guinness. It is much healthier for you and you won't consume lots of sugar so you won't become diabetic. Either that or have a glass of red wine.

I'm in perfect health and drink soda(not all the time, but at a decent rate).

See look what kind of crap MADD puts in peoples brains. I'd say MADD is killing brain cells more than beer ever could. A couple beers or a glass of wine ain't gonna kill any brain cells. That's only if you overindulge and start getting drunk every night.
You have been LIED TO!!!!!!! By the fringe organizations like MADD. Thats why I make posts like these to tell the truth about society. We in america society think that beer is unhealthy for you and soda is a better drink. I'm glad you're in good health but lik eyou said you don't drink it all the time. YOu would be surprised, lots of people live on the stuff and are addicted to it. It is just as damaging to you as doing drugs or overindulging in alcohol.

Also, you do realize that what might be right for you might not be right for other's because everybody's biology is just slightly different.

Just because there are a lot of soda themed threads recently doesNOT mean we are all addicted to it! We can still love soda, and discuss soda without it being the only fluid we intake. YOU assumed that 75% of the posters talking about soda is unhealthy and addicted to it. Well guess what? Most of us aren't. Just because members of YOUR family are hooked on soda doesn't mean that everyone else is. Granted, my 11 year old sister IS addicted to soda, and I know it is a bad thing, because if she doesn't stop being addicted to it, she'll get urinary tract infection. However that is for another thread at another time. Also, I stay away from alcohol of every kind. I kick back and drink either Ramune or root beer in its place. Oh, and, I can't follow your suggestion, as I am 17 years old, and am 4 years under the drinking age.

I never promoted alcoholism. Advising someone to have a beer doesn't promote alcoholism at all, and that's the problem we have in society today. We think that if you promote alcohol that you're promoting the abuse. No you're not. My great grandmother lived to be 102 and she had wine every night and never soda. She never drank a soda in her life and look wha tshe did. My sister is relatively young and has a deteriorating spine and she lived on soda for years. Another relative of mine lived on soda and now he's diabetic. The "alcoholic" lived to be old, but the other two are gonna die young.
I know that biology is different but no one is meant to intake soda like that. Having a beer or wine over a soda or other sugar drinks is better for you cause alcohol clears your veins if used moderately. Soda is just drinking candy.
I know for a fact that MADD is fringe group dedicated to getting rid of alcohol cause THEY don't want it. You can call me a hypocrite but I'm not. I don't wanna get rid of soda just want to make sure people know the truth about it.
And sorry to hear you'r eunder the drinking age. Maybe you can find someone to buy it for you. If i were in charge drinking age would be 16 and the law enforcement would be very soft on it.

If you even start telling kids beer is fine in small dosages, they will drink in large dosages! Because they want to rebel by being like their parents, and going out and getting drunk and partying! Fact of the matter is you had bad experiences with soda, and from what I can tell, it has made you a somewhat biased person. I know people who lived on soda AND beer and lived nice long lives, with no real health defects. We all wish we could be healthier, but alcohol is not a suitible replacement for soda. It's just not.

you know what?
This thread has had the same effect that some people on this board have said the truth commercials have had on them, only instead of wanting to smoke cigarettes to spite the Truth people, I want to drink a 6 Pack of IBC root beer to spite kawalimus even though i'm trying to lose some weight.
Seriously.

And that's exactly what those commercials do. Same with the anti-alcohol approach. I don't care if you drink soda or not. That's not my goal. My goal is to tell people that soda is just as dangerous as any of those things because lots of people DO N OT know that. Fine, drink a 6 pack drink 50 of them. That's not what I'm out to do. If someone told my sister that she would die from soda she wouldn't had drank it. But people thought she was fine because no one told her it was bad for her since they said it was better than alcohol.
I'm not saying alcohol should replace soda I'm saying people should know the truth about soda.
