And that's exactly what those commercials do. Same with the anti-alcohol approach. I don't care if you drink soda or not. That's not my goal. My goal is to tell people that soda is just as dangerous as any of those things because lots of people DO N OT know that. Fine, drink a 6 pack drink 50 of them. That's not what I'm out to do. If someone told my sister that she would die from soda she wouldn't had drank it. But people thought she was fine because no one told her it was bad for her since they said it was better than alcohol. I'm not saying alcohol should replace soda I'm saying people should know the truth about soda. Obviously you do care otherwise you wouldn't keep going on all about it. Also, thanks for proving exactly what i said you were doing and the resultant effect you're going to have. You haven't even provided a legitimate numerical fact for any of this. At least the Truth people had that decency. Also, what about the straight-edge people? They're not going to be too happy with your belief that they should drop their soda (if they drink it) and pick up a beer.

Real straightedge people don't drink soda nether. It's as much of a drug as anything. SOmeone even said in another thread about soda that a certain type was addictive as crack. It's a drug.
I don't care that pepole drink soda. What I do care about is people not knowing that soda is dangerous to them even moreso than beer and other alcoholic drinks. Just because it don't make you drunk that just allows people to ignore it. If groups are gonna badmouth beer and cigarettes they should also do the same for soda or else they're hypocrites.
The TRUTH people are redundant because they tell you the truth ON THE PACKET OF CIGARETTES!! Soda doesn't say "this will eat away your immune system and your body and will leave you a sick mess and possibly diabetic". Until it does I won't stop what I do.

Once I accidentally left some root beer in the car on a hot day when I went to rent a movie, came back to my car and haphazardly took a swig. The volatile s*** actually burned, burned my throat when I drank it. Never again, never again.

Yes because soda is the only thing that causes diabetes and soda is the only thing that destroys your immune system. Give me a smurfing break. Just cause your family's genetic structure can't handle it doesn't mean humanity at large can't. By the way my best friend's father died from diabetes, but he didn't get it from drinking soda. Oh, and who are you to tell others what they believe in is "real" or not?

I'm not saying you can't. What I'm saying is lots of people don't understand that soda can do serious long term damage to you. You know cigarettes can because it says on the label and there are CONSTANT things telling you how bad they are. Alcohol gets the same treatment and ridiculous restrictions in the law in america. All other drugs are literally having war waged against them and causing a ridiculous amount of street crime due to that.
But soda which is as unhealthy for you in the long term when you abuse it as ANY drug, just gets off free. It contributes to the general malaise of society in america. And I'm just trying to tell people so they at least know what they're putting into themselves.

See all the fat people everywhere? What do you think most of them drink?? Beer will make you fat too but soda is the primary cause. That and fast food but that's another topic. Cause you don't buy cheeseburgers and fries at the supermarket but you do buy soda sometimes in bulk.
If people drank water, beer, juice, milk, other beverages, or wine instead of soda you'd see less fat people and society would be healthier. Soda is not the main downfall of society but it is one of the key contributing factors. I also blame the corporations who do NOTHING to health their products.

yes it's just soda making people fat. nothing else, of course, how silly of me to have not ever realized this.
Oh wait, none of this is backed up by any kind of proof so this is just your rhetoric at work, or more like at fail because that's what you're doing. You've convinced me you're angry and crazy, and that's it.
Now let me give you some proof. Some visual stuff i have seen with my own eyes.
My younger brother does not gain weight despite drinking 15+ sodas a week. My friends in college do not gain weight despite drinking that much in soda as well. Once again, different people, different metabolisms, different health. And that's why it's not the soda's fault so lay off it.

Hasn't there been a study that alcohol can be good for the heart of something like that?
I've seen a thread about that on here.

Hasn't there been a study that alcohol can be good for the heart of something like that? I've seen a thread about that on here. If you drink alcohol in moderation it is good for your health, although if i remember right it's either beer or wine and not hard liquor. As for the thread, I'm going to say Caffeine Free Diet Coke. My grandparents used to keep it next to their fridge and I would always sneak one or two so it reminds me of them.

A glass of red wine while eating is good for our health. Or so I've been told...
About the soda v alcohol fight... It's just a matter of use and abuse. Virtually every food/drink/thing is dangerous if taken in excessive amounts.
But I do agree that sodas are generally portrayed as harmless (pretty much like fast food junk) or even positive, while it'd be obvious that too much carbonated and sugar-rich drinks are unhealthy.

I'm not saying alcohol should replace soda I'm saying people should know the truth about soda. It may be just me, but I'm pretty sure everyone knows soda isn't healthy. The trick is to not ONLY drink soda, but water, juice, and milk as well. Well not all at the same time. I mean, if there's someone out there that actually thinks soda is healthy for them, they deserve what they get. Oh, and let's try to stay on topic from this point on (about warm soda, not the evils of sugar).

I used to enjoy RC Cola warm.
Coke and Pepsi, I have to have cold, but I never had a problem with RC Cola being warm.
