I've heard of worse. I've heard they are looking to make a Monopoly movie. I love the game...but no movie, please?

This has been in the planning stages since like 2000. I don't know if it will ever see any progress.

Hello, old news!
Anyway, Sam and Bruce are producing the thing, anyway. It's not like it's gonna be under the reigns of a Bay, or Boll, or some other douchebag.

That's all fine and good, I'm just disappointed that this is status quo in movies these days. Why can't these guys just be happy with having the first movie be as popular as it is? Next thing you're going to tell me that they are remaking Hallowe...... huh?

I've said this before, but they've remade Frankenstein and Dracula after Universal. And many of those remakes are considered classics in their own right. Granted, I don't think modern remakes are as good as, say, Hammer Studio's remakes in the 50s and 60s. But, I also don't think Halloween and Evil Dead are any more "sacred" than the Universal pictures I mentioned.

No, and you are correct about those remakes. But for every one of those remakes that will be good, there are DOZENS (and dozens) that are tripe.

For every Pan's Labyrinth or Being John Malkovich, there's gonna be plenty of Bad Boys II and uh...whatever Keanu Reeves is doing.

I've heard of worse. I've heard they are looking to make a Monopoly movie. I love the game...but no movie, please? How would that even work? Would it start with a man/woman/dog/hat/ship/car in the street suddenly being given £200, he then buys a property wins a crossword puzzle, goes to jail but uses his get out of jail free card then finds he can't park anywhere, takes the train to the electric company and thne ona freak 'chance' gets to but Mayfair and saves the day!
