www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,289331,00.html Parents get arrested for starving their kids. What were they doing instead? playing Dungeons & Dragons online. I've played D&D before, but I've also met people who play it to the point where it's practically their life. Those people should not be allowed to procreate, IMO.

What a pair of complete dirtbags. That's disgusting and pathetic. Here's hoping they never get their kids back and never reproduce again.

The sad thing is, this is going to add fuel to the banning of video games fire. Guys like Jack Thompson are going to blame the neglect all on the fact that a video game caused this, not the fact that the parents neglected their responsibilities. Pretty soon all we are going to be left with is the Fox News video game. Ooh look! I just unlocked Bill O Reilly! I can tell people to shut up and tell them they are wrong now!

You know, things like that really makes me hate some people. They deserve to never ever see their children again, and I hope they get locked up for a long long time.

How did they procreate?!! He rolled a 20 and got the chance to impregnate her without having sex. Her defense to "horny nerd" was low and she rolled a 2, so she got pregnant.

Sadly, as long as they have their games, I don't think they're going to care.
I'm glad the story at least said that this kind of neglect (due to video games) is rare.

It's stories like these that make me wonder:
You need a license to drive a car, but you don't need a license to raise kids?

It's stories like these that make me wonder: You need a license to drive a car, but you don't need a license to raise kids? That wouldn't work. People who get licenses to drive still drive drunk and have wrecks. Nothing is ever foolproof and no label or piece of paper will ever make sure someone's perfect.

This sounds familiar, are you sure it isn't an old story? There was a story about WoW that was pretty much the same.

In this case, I would not consider mandatory sterilization cruel and unusual punishment.....

He had a +10 Charisma modifier Although his Intelligence and Wisdom scores were both at -2. And his wife's? Both -3.

Damn, I may like D & D, but that is just horrible. I know people that used to play every day, but there comes a point where you have got to take care of your responsibilities. Everyone that i am willing to play with knows that. I would refuse to have anything to do with these losers.
BTW, I play about 3-4 hours one evening a week. At my peak (while I was single) I played 3 days a week at most (Friday evening, Saturday evening, and Sunday during the day for a total of about 10-12 hours). Any amount more than that is just silly, even if you aren't responsible for anyone else.
