There's 6 gamestops within 3 miles of me, and none of them have wii's or know when they get the shipments in. So, anyone who works there wanna give me the inside scoop?

I have a few friends that work at Gamestop and they say they never know when they are gonna have them in until they actually arrive at the store. Sometimes what happens is if they have an ad that is gonna be in the Sunday paper, and they get a shipment of Wii's in on (ohh, let's say Wednesday), then those Wii's are gonna sit in the backroom until Sunday so they actually have Wii's in stock for their Sunday ad.
EDIT: Actually, now that I think of it, we used to do this when I worked at Target too. So I guess other stores do it to. Your best bet would to go into any store on a Sunday morning.

My suggestion would be to hit a Wal Mart. They seem to have boatloads of them. At least they do in my area.

If I were an enterprising young man with money, I'd buy their stock and sell them on Ebay, becuase there are parts of the country where it's easier to buy Fabrege eggs than it is to buy a Wii.

Nobody here works at GameStop because I haven't seen anyone on these boards hound you for trade-ins or pester you for pre-orders. ;D Sorry any Gamestop employees it's a joke, and I know you have to do it and it's not your fault, it's still annouying though.

Funny. I found my wii at walmart, too.
But yeah, the gamestop people at my local GS(local meaning an hour away) seem to like me quite a bit(I don't know if they actually remember me each time,(I mean, I am kinda distict-looking) or if they are just very friendly to everyone) and they always told me that its pretty random when they get them. Sometimes they'll get multiple orders a week, other times they'll go weeks at a time without them.

From my experience, course the ones around here are run by assholes, they know when they're getting them in, they just don't tell you. So keep calling, call once in the morning, call once in the evening, that's what I did, the store which 'wasn't getting any' magically got 5.

I have still yet to see one but a friend of mine got his at Best Buy while just wandering around. The sad thing is the jerk hasn't even opened it yet!!! (He bought a 360 the same day with Gears of War and hasn't stopped playing that yet.) The best advice is to just stop by random stores that would carry them and hope for the best. Ebay is really only good as a last resort because your going to be paying a lot more money for it. Best of luck to ya!

They DHL guy stops at my store, Wal Mart, Future Shop, Zellers and such and such.....Because all those stores are within the same, oh, 2km radius, they're all on the same truck. A bigger city, will probably districts, but it's the same deal. When place A gets some, place B will as well. Unless the purchasing department is full of morons who never bothered to buy some Wiis.

EDIT: Actually, now that I think of it, we used to do this when I worked at Target too. So I guess other stores do it to. Your best bet would to go into any store on a Sunday morning. It's like that at my store for the most part, a lot of times we just get things and nobody knows about them, all kinds of products. Except for Wiis, which they know we'll be getting July 22nd. So, hey, if you have a Toys R Us, maybe check there July 22nd. As far as Gamestop (and by "Gamestop" I mean "EB," since they're the exact same thing), the last time I asked, the guy said they had four boxes of them, and I assume they come two in a box. The last time I was in there, a guy was buying one, and there probably wasn't enough time between those two days for them to sell out, order and receive more. I guess it comes down to the luck of the draw; sometimes I'll see four Wiis in a case at any given store, and others, they're out for months.

After going to thirteen different stores I randomly found mine in a Fred Meyers and there were about five on the shelf. You just gotta hit those places other people aren't thinking of.
