Ooooo. What "reality" does it follow? The different series and the movies are all disconected in one way or another... or is this just creating a new story again?

it's an offshoot story, another Immortal and his 1,000 year quest to take out an Immortal warlord.

Damn, that "battle" between the Romans and Celts had the most painful deaths this side of 300 and Elfen Lied.

Funny that it took an animated version of Highlander to explain that.

Funny that it took an animated version of Highlander to explain that. No kidding, and it actually makes sense.

Sucks Colin has to wait again to be with Moya again.
I do have to say, Marcus was a pretty badass villain.

Also, I didn't know until after the movie ended that it was made by the maker of Ninja Scroll. That WOULD explain the very realistic art style(in terms of anime), and the over the top violence.

heh, I think Marcus and Genma from Ninja Scroll are the same guy. ;D
Interesting that the Highlander writers/producers decided to go the Anime route this time around, worked out pretty good.

Maybe it helped that it wasn't the same hacks that were the Rick Berman-cancer of that franchise, where continuity was that bastard that keeps getting in the way.

Could this possibly be a test to see if they should make an anime series based on Highlander?

I'm not big on anime in general but I'll cross to the darkside if that happens.

Could this possibly be a test to see if they should make an anime series based on Highlander? I always thought, honestly, that the original HIGHLANDER was a open-and-shut story to which a sequel was unnecessary. But with the TV series saying that the ending of HIGHLANDER was incorrect............whatever. But I was impressed with this movie since it is the best of any of the sequels (though considering those 3 sequels were absolutely atrocious, thats not saying much) and you know what? Its not yet another silly HIGHLANDER sequel where sword fights occur, but render useless by another sequel. Instead, this movie actually brings something to the table NEW and fresh to the series. Plus, with that wackyness that the Japs bring to their anime......sure, why not a spin-off series?
