Has anyone played this piece of shit? I have been a fan of the nascar series for years and every year I buy it. It has been going downhill every year but being the first year for it on the 360 I was stoked! Lets see whats so BAD about this game (and theres alot)
My main gripe about this game is that its only 1 freakin PLAYER!!! Since when has a Nascar game ( let alone any EA sports game been 1 player) The big reason I bought it was for the two player split screen season. Making it only one player offline is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Also the game is HARDER than hell, your car constantly pulls left and the AI seems to magically go 15-20 MPH faster than you on every lap. They like to cheat you every second they can, bump you, spin you out and just basically screw you during the whole race!
The online sucks (lags, people wrecking constantly) the graphics are HORRIBLE for a 360 game. Glitches are everywhere! cars going thru cars, cars going thru walls!
This game is basically just trash!
Anyone else played this pathetic waste of $65 dollars?

Nope, you'd be better to just buy Forza.

I've hated NASCAR games since EA bought the license and the first game (the first with Chase for the Cup) had no way to race full races.
I loved long, log ago, back when I'd try to do all 500 laps at Bristol on NASCAR '98 for N64, only to be gypped into doing 20 laps in 2003

I am prob the biggest NASCAR fan here and ever since NASCAR 2005 Chase They have been horrible. I wish NASCAR Heat was still around it was good had a nice blend of realistic racing and arcade feel. (Nascar Heat 2002 on X Box was awesome) I really hate EA Sports having an exclusive licensing deal.

In Thunder 03 just set Race Length to 100%. 2003 is easily my favorite out of all the NASCAR games

and yes 2003 was good! Do any of you guys remember the nascar 98 game? I remeber two things from that game, one was a code where you could shoot paintballs at the other drivers! and the second was the damn song that was stuck in my head for a whole year!
"Im traveling down the road and im flirting with disaster"

HA! Yes! Molly freakin Hatchet. The paintball code, and wasn't there one to make the cars float in midair? Or was that what happened when you shot the other cars? I still have that game for the PS1, I should bust that out.

The NASCAR Racing series by Sierra/Papyrus is where it's at. Especially Season 2002 and 2003.

yeah this not only applies to nascar games but pretty much all EA Sports games these days. all the stuff about exclusive licensing has pretty much made EA Sports way too lazy. I used to be a big EA fanboy, bought Madden, NCAA football, etc., whenever it came out, but now I can't even say the last time I played an EA Sports game. the nascar games were kinda good back in the Nascar Thunder days, 2003 and 2004 were great games

yeah i agree! I LOVED the 2k sports series.. they basically killed EA at every sports genre... Ill never forgive EA for buying the NFL lincense... NFL2K5 to this day is still my favorite football game ever!.... All-Pro 2k8 is a damn good game but withouth the Nfl License it gets old

I guess it was 2005 I meant, not 2003. Yeah 2005 was the first to have the horrible AI where if you were losing by 20 seconds you could catch up in 2 laps. And you never ever had to use the break. 2003 was the game where your car sucked at first but you got your team better by doing Research and Development. And you had to maintain your pit team and the better you were the better the guys you could sign to your crew, and the better sponsors you could sign.

All-Pro 2k8 is a damn good game but withouth the Nfl License it gets old The NFL put the exclusive license up for bids, EA didn't just call them one day and and offer tons of money for the license. But thats what people wanna think. And while Madden has been lacking the last few years, NCAA Football has always been really good. With the exception of the 07 game, NCAA Football is the best sports franchise EA makes.

Say, doesn't this sound like when EA got hosed with the MLB License after MLB Baseball 2005? (which is arguably the best baseball sim out there today, especially if you can get it on the PC) The people who picked it up have been sullying that game's good name.

I look at it like ESPN 2k5 was a great fun game that I loved owning and preferred to Madden that year, but I'd be lying my ass off if I said the thirty buck price difference didn't rose tint the lenses I looked at it through a tad.

o definitly! but its so much more realistic. When the 2ksports lost the NFL license i had no choice to go back to Madden and after a few years I got use to it again and liked it. I dont think I can do that this year though, after playing ALL Pro i dont think I can go back to Madden... its to Arcadeish

Buddy, you might have competition in the "Biggest NASCAR fan" gimmick, and I'll challenge you for it. However, I do agree that since, actually since 2004, the NASCAR games were horrible. I have played NASCAR games ever since the NASCAR Racing games for the POSOne, and NASCAR 98 was the first game I ever bought (L1 L2 R1 R2 at the same time = oil shoots, everyone crashes). I even played NASCAR 2001 and Thunder '02 on POSone before my family got a POS2. I ruled those games, and Thunder 2002 has the Buster Auton cheat on it, and damn, I went around backwards around Dover wrecking everyone in my path. The last game I bought for the NASCAR franchise was 2005: Chase for the Cup. I remember hating it. The fake-ass "supercar" races, the new features like the... freakin'.... Intimidator mode. It was so bad, not only could I not believe I wasted two months worth of allowance on it, but I would vow never to buy another EA NASCAR game ever again. Just for craps and kicks, I rented '08 for the POS2 at Blockbuster. One thought ran in my mind the whole time: IT'S THE SAME GAME AS THREE YEARS AGO!!!!?!?!?!? I was mad, and almost wanted to snap the disc in half before remembering it isn't mine. BTW, Dirt to Daytona is probably the last great console NASCAR game.
