is there anyway you can take the music off your ipod and put it in your itunes library?

I don't know... try plugging in the connector that connects from your iPod to your computer, and see if you can drag the files into your library.

There are lots of applications for that. Apple doesn't want you to be able to do that.
I use iPod Viewer for Mac myself.

You'll need an application to do that. iTunes alone will not let you copy files from your iPod to your iTunes library. Kinda sucks, I know, but it's for preventing too much (illegal) filesharing I suppose

Just type something like "copy music ipod" into download.com. They've got some pretty good stuff on that.

But surely you already have your music on your computer? Plenty of legit reasons for this: 1. New computer 2. Music lost during re-format 3. Music accidentally deleted 4. Music which exists on the Ipod, yet you no longer own the CD of 5. Original files are corrupted, Ipod files needed to correct this
