I have massive love for Morrison and Hendrix, but Joplin gets the win from me.

Beatles. I'm not that big a fan of them but it's them. My fave's Hendrix though.

Lennon as part of Beatles and as posterboy of the Swinging London that took over the world.
While I rank Hendrix more influential, and Joplin a better artist, Lennon and the Beatles are head ans shoulders the icons of the 60s. Not even Jagger & Richards come close.
Outside of the music, that played a huge role as a sociological phenomenon anyway, I'd go for JFK and Martin Luther King.

Jagger and co. Rolling Stones!
They gave me Paint it Black & 19th Nervous Breakdown.
I shall always be in their debt.

Exactly. Where the f is Lennon on this poll? The man was meeting with people outside of the american government for crying out loud. And furthermore the Beatles defined the 60s. The Stones don't come close and still haven't.
