Just wondering. It was just on HBO just now and it was the first time I've actually gotten to watch it and it seemed Ok to me, but I get the feeling that it's pretty hated based on a lot of things I've read about it it. Was it because they killed so many mutants? Messed around with Phoenix too much? Made Juggernaut too cool?

People like to complain, especially about comic book type stuff. And they had a target with the trilogy getting a new director.

I thought it was terrible honestly. Just a hokey overdone mess that could've been done alot better with some tweaks here or there. Nothing to do with liking to complain, I would've like to have enjoyed it.

It wasn't bad, but it could have been done better. I mean, the Sentinels were only on screen for a second. And, they killed Cyclops! I don't get that! Why couldn't they have Cyclops get some balls and lead the X-Men to victory after Professor X dies!?

Had they gone ahead with Singer's original plans for a four picture series, I think it would have turned out better.

-Cyclops dies for no reason. -WAY too many characters. -Too many underdeveloped plots. -A good chunk of it seemed to be an excuse to use special effects. -It just wasn't very good.
On the plus side, Kelsey Grammar was an AMAZING Beast, and Juggernaut was great as well.
The rest of the movie, however, just totally sucked.

I didn't think it was bad, as much as I was let down by it after how good X2 was. By the way did anyone see the scene after the credits of X3?

Kelsey Grammar was awesome as Beast. That was a plus. I also marked out for Jamie Madrox's appearance.
But like Bob said, it the second one woulda been a mediocre movie, like I felt the first one was, X3 woulda been fine. As it was, it was a letdown in potential.

Plus..ask..most people which character they would like to see in an X-Men movie..and Gambit is probably going to be in the top three. Three movies. NO Gambit. BUFFOONERY.

Actually that's one positive about all three movies. No Gambit. Though Nightcrawler only appearing once is some crap.

These movies NEED Gambit. So bad. Plus, I just thing the RoguexIceman thing is weird. But then again, it IS an AU from the comics, so it's forgiveable...but still. I wanna see Gambit womanizing on the big screen.

And you can blame Alan Cummings for no more Crawler. Son Of The Mask took priority. Or maybe he knew the new one would suck.

Who gave ya the Harleen Quinzel moniker? Heh. And yeah, I will blame Cummings some, though as good as he was as Crawler, someone else coulda played him too.

Well, first of all, they killed Cyclops and made it the Wolverine movie. Then they made Logan a complete wuss and forced a love angle with him and Jean Grey which was barely developed. The movie also just suffered from a crumby story.

1 They made humans look all nice and innocent, when we all know that their are many anti-mutant humans out there who want to exterminate them muties. In other words all the humans were portrayed as humanitarians rather than rascists.
2 The cure should have turned all the mutants into super-powered slaves of Apocolypse (as in the tv series). It wouldn't even have to be that, I was just hoping for some sort of swerve with regards to the "cure" like it slowly kills the mutants or something diabolical.

Killing off Professor X is what bugged me the most. Especially towards the end of the film when you hear his voice. Why leave a cliff hanger type ending like that when the series is finished?

Because you know how movie studios are. No way that series is finished in the long run. To much money to be made.
